No One thinks this is important, but... (ha)

The Faceless Men and the Iron Bank are two outstanding (I mean that in both ways) mysteries from ASOIAF. Surely some of the biggest reveals are yet to come, but Fire & Blood gave us quite a bit more to think about. They are mentioned early, middle and late in the book.

Since it's been fairly well established that GRRM is, in part, using F&B to set the table for future ASOIAF events, and given that the Faceless Man and Iron Bank are mentioned quite a bit in the book... then we should pay attention!

Excellent discussion! Lot of interesting points raised, and I had some further thoughts on Braavos and their future relationship with Dany 1. I think Dany's increasing focus on "fire and blood" in a Dance with Dragons marks her moving away from the mother/breaker of chains role due to her frustrations with Slaver's Bay. The Braavosi, already wary of any dragonlord, are going to be increasingly hostile to her as she moves west if she continues her focus on bringing the fire and blood of House Targaryen and Old Valyria back to Westeros (especially considering how the Tattered Prince is coming back to Pentos...that's in Braavos's backyard) 2. The Iron Bank probably doesn't like Dany's anti-slavery crusade because of its mass disruption to the global economy. I don't think they do have tendrils in the slave trade, but I doubt they like Old Volantis going to war, increasing piracy for slaves, and the economy instability this has created in the region. 3. The Iron Bank probably also considers Dany to be the least likely claimant to the Iron Throne to pay them back for Robert Baratheon's debts. Stannis has, of course, already struck a deal with them but is pretty likely to die in TWoW, Cersei obviously has already told off but is on increasingly shaky ground and Tommen is young and could be convinced as time goes on, and Aegon is unlikely to, but could be in such a tight spot as Dany approaches that he agrees out of desperation. Dany, with her dragons, Unsullied and life long hatred of the Usurper is unlikely to have a healthy fear of Braavos or want to pay Robert's debts.
