PMW ideas thread 2016 (Patreon)

Hi all,

It'll soon be time for the next Prove Me Wrong release. This will be an update where I'll work on something that I wasn't intending to add to Newlife, but which has been chosen by the players – within reason, of course.

I'll run the vote for this next month – by which I mean October as I'm writing this on the 29th.

This post is so you can suggest things to be voted on. For the PMW release all the voting options will come from players – I won't add any myself.

I've decided to limit the suggestions post to voters. Last time there were so many suggestions that we had to have a 2-stage vote just to narrow them down. I'm hoping that by only including actual voters in the suggestions thread it'll be kept to a more sensible level.

There are some restrictions in what I'll put on the voting list. If you aren't sure though, feel free to suggest something and I'll let you know if it's ok.

Here are some guidelines:

- In general, I get a veto on any idea.
-The new addition must be possible to implement in a single release.
-It must not include illegal content (under UK law). This also includes copyrighted content from other people:you can add your favourite fictional character as a custom NPC, but for obvious legal reasons I'm not going to add official content based on other people's copyrighted work. If you don't know UK law, don't worry. I won't be offended if you suggest something I can't add – I'll say no, but I don't mind you making the suggestion.
-I'll say no to some extreme content even if it's legal. This includes things I wouldn't be comfortable researching & writing content about. Examples include blood, scat, sickness, death. These should mostly be quite obvious.
Content must reasonably fit into the Newlife world. The whole 'mad science' angle does give a bit of flexibility there, but you shouldn't be running into orcs on the street or whatever.
- The idea is that the PMW content is just done in the PMW release. I don't want to add new game mechanics that would need to be regularly handled in future releases. As such, I strongly prefer ideas that work as a single large new scene or a few smaller ones rather than anything which would need updates to a wide range of existing and future scenes. So, a new sex scene would be fine but a new personality type would not.
- I'll also veto any ideas that will be in the major release candidates that'll be decided in the 0.5 vote coming later this year. So, no weddings, lesbian sex scenes and so on. Those get their own vote.

To put forwards an idea for voting, post it in the comments below. Please don't send any by PM - I want other players to be able to comment on ideas and also to easily see if something they want to suggest has already been put forward.
