Hi all, this release contains a scene I commissioned from the writer Elizabeth King that I've had sitting around waiting for final polish & integration for a little while now. 

I've also included scene submissions from Secondarian and Lost Trouting - it'll be good to put the Velocity/YAML away and get back to Java for 0.5.3!

The next release will be the first proper one in the improved pregnancy update. In the meantime, enjoy and let me know if you find any bugs - although I spent more time than usual testing this release so I will be very disappointed in myself if I've let any really big ones slip through!

Major changes & additions: Added a new random event, commissioned from Elizabeth King. This is a once-per-game scene that can happen on the weekend timeslot if you aren't wearing a bra. Added the datingApp scene submitted by Secondarian. This can appear if the PC has the personal-computer item and is single. It's an event in the date-night timeslot so will only show up if that isn't taken up by a guaranteed event like the nightclub or a date. This event creates a new NPC and gives you the chance to date them. If you do, they're permanently added to the NPCs in your game. Otherwise, they're removed. Added Lost Trouting's minidate scenes that can appear randomly at the weekend timeslot when you're in a relationship. Minor changes: Slightly increased knowledge gain from dating, as requested by Morion. Reworded the creepily-vague start to the date scene when going to a bar and skipping preparation where your date just takes you to “a place nearby”. Thanks to ChaosBlade for pointing this out. Updated shyness cure and lowlives alley scenes with new versions provided by Rigel that use newer methods for setting arousal. Changes for user-submitted content: Adjusted the conditions for letting your partner name children to match the text a bit better. Added a haveOrgasmFromPc method to male NPCs. This is the same as haveOrgasm but also increases their enjoyment based on their attraction to the PC. A scene can now be defined with no actions by completely removing the actions: section in the yml. This will need to either finish the scene or transition elsewhere in the intro section. Bugfixes: Fixes to text issues. Thanks to OrangeJuice, NoName, Saur, ChaosBlade and ArsenalJacob for reporting some of these. Fixed an issue reported by NoName where the “be contrite” option in the newer pregnancy announcement scene was missing text. Added text to the “falling in love” scene's “You're so happy” action for when you aren't in a relationship together. Thanks to NoName for reporting this! Fixed some more issues with letting your partner choose a baby's name when he isn't the biological father. Thanks to NoName for highlighting these. Fixed a major bug reported by Jjrider, NoName and Vamatt99218 where an error setting up the scene where your partner visits to talk about your pregnancy meant it was not firing correctly.

Logic issue: If the PC has admitted to infidelity with a likes_to_share partner before, there's no text going through it again if she tells him that she's pregnant. Yet you still get a text as if it's a direct continuation of the infidelity conversation: "You've managed to keep your relationship intact through the cheating discussion, but having a baby is a whole new conversation, and not likely to be an easy one. Is he ready to stay with you and help parent this child, even though it doesn't share his genes? Getting pregnant by another man is taking things very far indeed, but Joel has always enjoyed sharing his wife. He isn't going to get upset about this when it's a natural consequence of what he's been encouraging you to do. "

From the YML file: "# Preconditions: # The PC is wearing a casual outfit for that timeslot. # The PC's chosen outfit does not include a bra. # A male NPC exists for whom all the following are true: # - Is a stranger to the PC. # - Is not a restricted special NPC. # - Has the Jerk personality. # - Has the Sleazy trait. # - Finds the PC attractive. # - Likes the PC's breasts" So for the PC, the only necessary requirement is the (casual) braless weekend. But if you e.g. use the psychich cheat, you can never get this event, and if you only use random NPC's, it's presumably not certain either.

Another logic issue: When at the erotic cinema, watching the PCs own porn with the same NPC she made it with, the NPC doesn't acknowledge it, and has usual lines like this: "You lean close to Oskar and murmur that you wish that the two of you weren't out in public right now. The camera zooms in on Alexandra's face as she's vigorously fucked, her beautiful deep blue eyes looking directly out of the screen at you. Oskar leans over to you, and quietly tells you that Alexandra might fuck like a porn star, but you're his bird and you're the one he wants to be inside. " I think it's jarring to have the NPC say something like that to the PC about the porn they made together.

I agree, there's several logical issues with the PC involved in the porno, starting even from the porn star NPC (for example, if that same NPC is also your sleazy friend or boyfriend, they may pitch the idea to you, then you tell them they can't be your co-star, and then they show up as the called in co-star and are available twice in the scene). I love the inclusion and it's a nice addition from before, I just hope it gets further expanded to include more options in both the production AND the viewing.

The next update will focus more on improved pregnancy, on that note, can there be an opposite of baby crazy? Like, even if she likes bare sex, she really really doesn't want to get pregnant or cum inside when not protected? Also, will the improved pregnancy also include NPC pregnancy?

May I just say that the newly commissioned scene was very enjoyable! The narrative and descriptions throughout were brilliant! My only disappointment is that it didn't escalate into a full on sex scene narrated in the same manner or that it isn't part of an escalating sequence of events! I do look forward to any future commissioned scenes and especially so to more by Ms King!

Really enjoying the new scene and the dating app (great for adding guys in when your PC doesn't really find anyone attractive)! Random aside - I just had the sales boss ask if my PC liked older men in the job interview, which I had never seen as a question before. Are there any plans to add the option to set attraction levels for age in the same way you can do it for body types right now? If not, can we get a Likes Older Men fetish that increases the PC's attraction to men aged 40+?

Thanks, I'll look over those lines. The porn scene does know if the NPC was involved in making the porn so it's just a matter of fixing those lines that were missed in the original pass through. JulianR.Amazing: Cheers, that gave me a laugh. The porn actor is supposed to be a limited special NPC who only appears in those scenes though, so it shouldn't be possible for him to be the PC's friend or bf, barring shenanigans with unofficial custom scenes. I've had a look over the code and it seems there's maybe one very obscure path to him being befriendable if a custom porn actor is used. I'll fix that for the next release.

Glad you enjoyed it! I've passed your feedback onto the writer. I don't believe they're available for further commissions right at the moment but the door's certainly open for them if some of their time frees up in the future. Depending on the scene's popularity I may also consider looking for other writers to make scenes similar to these in the future - I'm still not sure how to manage things when game2 gets nearer to release and bringing in commissioned writers is a possibility there.
