Hi all,

So, I woke up this morning and suddenly remembered that there's just 28 days in February.

Fortunately both the main additions for the next release were largely ready for release: a near-complete rework of the town-date and a new scene submitted by Secondarian.

Less fortunately, I still have bugfixing to catch up on and the new content really could use more testing.

So, I'm releasing this as 0.4.28a but I expect it to be buggier than usual due to the lack of testing. I'll most likely be putting out a bugfix version in the next few days with fixes to any issues people find in the new content as well as ones reported for the last version that I haven't yet got round to handling.

After the bugfixing I'll get onto PMW, and then I think a shorter "tidy-up" release with no major new content but refinements to scenes like the cooking-class that people have requested.

After that I'm not sure if there really needs to be more on the relationships update. There's certainly things I could add, but it might be time to draw a line under it and move onto the next major-update vote. I think I'll pose the question to voters and see if they want another few relationship releases or if they're ready to pick a new direction.

In other news, I've been consulting with a lawyer this month and they're looking into whether the new age-verification stuff covers text content. The BBFC's site says it does, but my lawyer isn't convinced this matches up with the actual statute, so I'm waiting to hear back from them on that.

I've also had some advice on how to comply with the age-verif stuff which I'll definitely need for game2 even if Newlife isn't affected. I seems like it'll be a massive PITA for me and any UK-based players, but not so much of a PITA that I'd need to shut down if Newlife was covered.

In particular, age-verification only needs to be applied to people located in the UK so it should be possible to have separate download pages depending on the blog visitor's IP geo-location and only use age-verification gating for the UK one. I've no great knowledge of blogging or websites in general so I have no idea how to go about implementing this, but I believe it is possible and I should be able to figure it out before it becomes a legal problem.

Enjoy your improved dates and let me know if you find any bugs!
