A Pause (Patreon)

Hi all,

Some of you may remember that I suffered from a painful back/shoulder ailment late last year. While I never received a definite confirmation of its cause, a physiotherapist did suggest that it might be some kind of work-related RSI injury.

After a couple of long days finishing off the last release, I've suffered what I believe is a relapse of the same condition, although if anything it's even more painful this time. I was able to see a doctor and they gave me a diagnosis (trapped nerve), some painkillers which have not proved as effective as I'd hoped, and an estimate for my recovery: five or six weeks.

It isn't possible for me to work at the moment - I'm having a hard time even writing this post, and I definitely don't want to try pushing through the pain when keyboard use may have been the cause of my injury and could risk making it worse.

I've put this patreon campaign on 'pause'. That means that you will not be charged at the beginning of May. I did consider leaving it running and using the money to commission scenes by other writers, but right now I don't feel capable of doing the recruitment and editing needed for that.

I'll re-assess the situation at the start of May and decide then if I can come back to work or if I'll need to keep the pause going for a second month.

I also won't be answering people's comments here over the next month - I've needed several rest breaks to write this post so keeping up communications with individual players is definitely beyond me. Sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope you're all having a better start to the month than I am.
