I wanted to render one of the creatures from my dossier, because I had so much fun creating them so I threw this together. I sadly CANNOT render the full body because getting just this far capped my CPU out. I desperately need a computer upgrade but don't have the 00's of $$ to spend on it. My only goal for this year so far has been buying pc parts/upgrading and/or replacing my current rig. There is so much I have to learn in the 3d world, so I'm sad I am behind in my studies and am quite literally, incapable of progressing until I upgrade. Bleh.

Anyway I love this guy, he's a Kyononix, taken from Kyon [dog] and Eponix [horse] from the drake language. They're also one of several hunter species on Io [native Iovian] that hunt through echolocation and a highly complex set of organs to do so. These guys are also very dull outwardly but have a large variety of flashy "nares" [not really] that they raise when threatened, or for various displays to other creatures. It's ironic they have such brightly colored organs, yet cannot see them themselves. They have a stubby tail, and 4 digit fleshy paws and a body covered in round scales of varying sizes. They don't carry much in the weight department and have extremely long legs and can hit breakneck speeds while running. And no, they never crash into objects.

Also, while they are not a true Kyon they are as far as drakes are concerned. Kyon meaning "dog" and drakes as a whole refer to alien creatures [Iovian creatures are alien to them] as what they most resemble. in this case, 4 legs, can be tamed, it'sadog but not just any dog, long leggies are familiar, so clearly this animal is a DOGHORSE.

This is how 90% of drake speech and creature names are created.
