“...and that's why I need your help, brave priest. With the world in such great peril, your powers as a priest might be the only thing that can save it.” The goddess pleaded, making the guy in front of her look at her in awe.

Oliver for one was a relatively new priest, so he had never actually seen his goddess before and seeing her in person was so much more overwhelming than he expected. So he could only stare for a while until he got ahold of himself again. Which took way too long, even according to the goddess.

“Uhm… Are you okay?” She asked, looking slightly concerned for him. Having his goddess look worried for him made him come back to his senses, though he had to try really hard not to look directly at her afterwards. Her shining splendor simply was a little bit too much for him.

“Yes, yes, I am just fine.” Oliver blurted out, trying his best that his internal struggle wasn’t visible from the outside, though according to the somewhat fake smile of the goddess, it was very clear that she already knew about it. So he added quickly. “So what was this about my power…? I don’t think I have any notable magic spells at my disposal.”

“Don’t worry about it. I’ll just send you back in time and the powers will come to you on their own.” The goddess smiled and snapped her fingers, making a large, dark portal appear right behind the still somewhat confused guy.

“What? Back in time? What do you want me to do… Uhm…? What are you…?” Oliver asked as the goddess slowly walked behind him and placed her divine hands on his shoulders, slowly pushing him forward. Oliver was now even more confused than before, but he somehow couldn't muster enough strength to resist the demanding push of his goddess.

“You will see when you get there~” She chimed, sounding slightly annoyed as she pushed him closer to the portal, so that he was only a few centimeters away from it. Oliver wanted to breathe a sigh of relief when she suddenly stopped, but then the goddess just proceeded to give him a hefty push on his back, making him stumble and fall through the portal.

“I expect you to complete your mission gracefully~”

“Whaaaaaaat Miiiiiissssiiiiooooooon…?” Was the last thing the goddess heard, before the portal closed and Oliver was gone from this timeline for good.

“...did i not tell him…?” The goddess wondered, staring blankly into the void for a moment, before shrugging her shoulders. “Oh well, he will probably figure it out. I believe in him. …I kinda have to…”

And with that Oliver was sent on his mission, still unaware of what was expecting him. To his shock, he was released a few hundred meters above the ground, falling with high velocity into impending doom. Oliver's thoughts were pure chaos and fear as he braced for impact. He spun around in the air and finally saw that he was released above a seemingly endless ocean. Hoping for the best, he just kept his body as straight as possible to hopefully avoid a hard landing.

Splash

There he was, stranded in the middle of nowhere. He dove down tens of meters from the sheer velocity he retained from falling. He tried to swim back up, running out of air quickly. But way before he was even close to the surface, he couldn’t keep his breath any longer and his reflexes told him to take a deep breath. He surrendered and was….. fine?

Without him noticing, a set of gills formed along his neck, allowing him to easily breathe underwater as if he was on land. But that wasn’t the only thing changing. His hands elongated a little and the space between his fingers was filled with a skin-like material. Adding to this, his skin started to change, becoming more blue and stranger in texture. Not exactly smoother, but scale-like.

“Oh right… She is a goddess of transformations as well…” Oliver spoke underwater, which sounded weird to his untrained ear at first, before those started to change as well. Each of his ears split into two, then elongated, turning into fish-like fins as well, but with the upside of letting him hear and understand words spoken underwater.

It was clear to him by then that he was transforming into something marine, most likely into a mermaid of some sorts, but that still didn’t quite answer the burning question at the forefront of his mind. Well kinda, because even if he didn’t exactly know what he was supposed to do, there was this growing drive deep within him that suddenly started to surface.

And just as suddenly, from the corner of his eyes he spotted a giant underwater creature, clearly a dinosaur of some kind, swimming closer towards him. His heart almost skipped a beat when he saw it, but not necessarily from fear, rather from its majestic beauty.

This was a 15 meter long megalodon underwater swimming directly at him, and all he could think of was: “I want it.”

Almost instinctively he swam towards it completely missing the fact that he started to swim less like a human. His legs moved in sync up and down, propelling him forward more with every stroke, until it seemed like the two of them were glued together. As they slowly fused together, his single very powerful tail started to pick up some serious speed, even more amplified when fish-like fins started to grow from his now very clearly mermaid inspired tail.

Though when he finally reached the massive megalodon, it simply opened its mouth and looked like it was trying to chow down on him. “The nerve of some creatures…” Oliver muttered, swimming with lightning speed out of the way of those massive jaws, confusing the creature as it closed its mouth with nothing notable inside.

“How dare you try to eat me!” Oliver hissed, slamming his open palm into the side of the big fish, making not only it recoil back in pain, but also sending shockwaves through his own body in the process.

More fins sprouted from both his arms and mermaid’s tail, which in his opinion only served to make him look even more majestic, but this time his torso wasn’t spared from the shockwave like before. Scales started to form all around his back and over his shoulder, emphasizing them as they shrank to give him a more dainty appearance.

In the meantime his hips flared up, seemingly taking the excess mass from his shoulders and waist to give him the best and most natural hourglass figure a mermaid could have. Which was only natural, because he was by far the prettiest and most powerful mermaid around~

Mermaid… Wasn’t he a guy?

The now almost completely transformed mermaid took a look down, noticing how her hair practically shot out of her head and continued to grow, until they reached a length that could easily reach her ass and maybe even farther. But one thing became abundantly clear for Oliver.

“I don’t know when it happened, but guess I am Olivia now.” Was all he let out after confirming that fact with her scaled and finned hand.

Olivia let out a brief sigh, before she heard something that made her ears twitch. It seemed like the small fry of a big fish wasn't quite done with her yet and swam right at her for a round two, to which Olivia could only roll her eyes at.

“Stop in your place, you brute!” She commanded, sending a massive shockwave from the waters that stopped every single sea creature in her vicinity to a screeching halt. Including the megalodon right in front of her.

“So you can understand me. That is quite fortunate for you.” Olivia swam up a bit to look down at the megalodon, who kinda looked a bit like it was cowering in fear. She then pointed at him and sent another shockwave out in all directions as she started to speak.

“You are in luck that this is one of my more merciful days. You shall become my ride on this most important quest.” She said as she let herself down on top of the massive fish. “Feel honored to know that you are the first creature here invited to follow in the way of my goddess. By the end of the day, the entire ocean will belong to her! Are you ready to serve her and me?”

The Megalodon nodded briefly and some more fishes of all kinds started to accumulate around her, making her laugh at how effective her word had already spread.

“Now go, big Megalodon! I have a lot of work to do and you will help me!” She demanded and the fish started to swim again, holding the prideful future primordial queen of the ocean on its back. Can there even be an honor greater than that in the world?

OH~ This time the goddess is sending them back in time to visit the Stone age and subdue everything in sight. Even the deep primordial Sea won't be spared. Everything shall bow to the great goddess. Ohohoho~
