In this episode, there were some creative liberties with the original player motives. For starters, in the real game I was the only player who did not immediately decide that Kevin had to be found for the purpose of destroying him. The other players were borrowing from the jumping off point of Toy Story, where Woody is jealous of the new toy, and they thought it would be fun to go in the extreme direction. Madglad the octopus, who I played as, wound up spending the entire time advocating for and protecting Kevin.

I snipped it out because it was a conflict that didn't really go anywhere, and it wasn't for anything outside of the shock value of destroying Kevin. Especially because mom had already taken Kevin away, and if the other toys really wanted Kevin to be gone, that meant most of their work was already done. Immediately afterward, the other players also proposed kidnapping the real Kevin by hiding themselves in Eric's backpack and then, I guess, torturing some kid until he agreed to play with Eric under threats to his life. The "torture the real Kevin" plan also didn't bear any notable fruit.

But one thing we discussed after the game was mom's closet. We didn't find it in the real game, and no hints were dropped about it. There was a chicken nugget toy, but he was killed by the cat as soon as he appeared. So I decided to go ahead and have that same toy play the role of the guy who knows just a bit more than the players, who points them to a specific, unusual location.

Loving it so far.

Aw man, we get to see mom's closet but no sex toys. XD Anyway, I'm having fun so far. The fact that toys seem to be capable of dying took me by surprise in a good way.
