In the game this comic is based on, Franz was from a totally different dimension - though that isn't the case for the comic. He was a Cleric/Wizard of Divination, and he got on pretty well with Putterdale. Specifically, he had a habit of helping Putterdale come up with broken logic to justify whatever questionable ethics the group employed towards our inane goals, and like Putterdale, viewed a two person consensus as the same as unanimity.
