This is something PBn used to ask sometimes. "Why's everything always got to be hard?" And I'd always say, "Because the easy stuff is already done." And I think one time he pointed out that sometimes he lets the easy stuff pile up and it collectively becomes something more difficult to deal with, which did sort of poke a hole in my philosophical little solipsism. But then I guess all the little sayings are like that.
