Since I started doing color with Stebe, I've been trying to figure out a better way to backgrounds and colors, so I've been changing my approach on pretty much a comic-to-comic basis. I've done lines and no lines, and have been trying to figure out the best way to make the scenery look good without spending more time on it than the main focus of each frame.

This time around, I tried using black lines to draw a few of the implied details, like bricks and carpet fuzz. I think that made the city background turn out a lot better than it has been, and I may continue this approach.

This ridiculous painting at the end is quite a thing, though. I mean, I wanted to imply it was some sort of mural which meant using a different style than the comic, I assumed, and the result is an image with more depth than the rest of the comic, and I'm not sure how this looks to someone who hasn't been staring at for hours but I assume I'll get comments about it.

It feels like a painted mural. I still don't know about using characters as panel dividers, you do double takes seeing the same character right next to themselves.
