Community Guidelines & Information (Patreon)

Welcome to my Patreon Community!  Thank you so much for choosing to support me and my work. For the first two years of doing this, I was a one-woman team handling everything by myself! In April 2024, I brought on a part-time editor and I really hope to continue the growth of my channel and Patreon to be able to get more help with all of these videos. Your love of movies and shows and my reactions to them makes my day, every day! Thank you again.

Some general things that I expect from members here in the comments:

  • Do not post any spoilers and expectations about movies and/or TV show episodes. While all spoilers aren't completely avoidable, I prefer to know as little as possible as it makes for better reactions. If you want to discuss specifics with fellow members, please join my Discord server and post whatever you would like in the #spoiled-talk channel that I have set up for Patreon members.

  • Be kind and respectful to myself and other members. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. is not welcome here and will result in a block/ban from the community.

  • Avoid yucking people's yums. You are allowed to discuss criticisms and flaws about movies and TV shows and express what you like and don't like because I do that too! But please do not drag others down for enjoying something. Do not lead with negativity on a regular basis. Essentially, just be mindful of the "room".

Can I send you a private message?

  • You may send messages! However I will usually only respond if you have a question or an issue with Patreon, my website, or the Discord server. Unfortunately I just don't have the time to respond to every private message that I receive, especially when doing so can often signal to the sender that the conversation can continue beyond that. Please do not interpret a lack of response as me being rude or unapproachable. It is much easier (and healthier) for me to keep interactions with members in public settings. The best way to chat with me is in my Discord server, but feel free to leave tons of comments here on Patreon! I do read them all. 😊

I am proud and protective of my spaces and I always want everyone to feel comfortable within them. I do not shy away from deleting comments or issuing timeouts, blocks, and bans.

Can I pay you to watch and react to a specific movie of my choice?

  • Yes you can! In May 2024 I launched a Reactr page to handle these requests. Please click here to visit my page and ensure that you read all of the info in the description before placing your request. All Reactr request watchalongs will be shared here on Patreon to all tiers. Whether they end up on YouTube or not is at my discretion.

How do I access your reactions? Do you have a Master List?

  • All of my reactions, both the watchalongs and edited versions, are accessed through my website, kaiielle.com! For the watchalongs, you will need to Login with your Patreon account first before clicking on any watchalong link on the site. The Login with Patreon link is always provided at the top of every reaction landing page.

What is the best way to watchalong with you?

  • If you are using a TV to watch the film or episode, then you can put my reaction video on your cell phone, tablet, or laptop. Use any device combination that works best for you!

  • If you are using a PC/laptop, then I will always recommend using Firefox's Picture-in-Picture mode. This allows you to have one video full-screen (either my reaction or the movie/TV show) and then the other video can be placed over top of the other and resized/positioned to your liking. If you're interested in trying out PiP, click here for details on how to set it up. Alternatively, if you have more than one monitor, you can put the reaction on one and your copy of the movie/show on the other. 

Why can't I see or hear the film/episode in the watchalongs? There are other reactors who provide the full movie/episode in the reaction.

  • Copyright law does not allow redistribution of an entire film or TV show episode, period. Even if I was giving them all away for free (and I most certainly am not). Since I am earning a living through this content, I am sticking to the legal way of doing this, which is the sync-your-own-copy format of watching along. While some reactors may be very comfortable with taking a risk here, I am not willing to risk it.

  • For the edited reactions on YouTube, this is where the Fair Use clause comes in, as that allows for transformative content. This includes commentary, review, editing, etc. With my edits, the focus is on my reaction and commentary and the material is there to provide context to that.

What is the Patreon Shop and why are some included in my membership and others are not?

  • The Patreon Shop is for people who don't want to become a member of the community and are just a quick way to grab watchalongs only. Every individual movie listing will be included in Patreon Memberships so that members can download the MP4 if they want that over the YouTube video that I link on my website. Bundles, which are priced higher and therefore may not be included in your membership, are not meant for members at all.

  • For the TV series bundles, I'm unable to make these available for free to all tiers. If you want the MP4s and you have paid the listing price (or more) through your membership, send me a DM requesting the link to the MP4s and I will send it.

  • Right now, all movie watchalongs are available in the Patreon Shop. TV Series are still being worked on behind-the-scenes. These are taking a lot longer to get through.


What is Member of the Month?

  • On the first Friday of every month, I put all qualifying members on a random wheel spin and the winner can choose a specific movie for me to watch and react to, or they may choose multiple movies to be put into a poll. The full-length watchalong reaction and review to the movie will be shared to Patreon to all tiers. It may also get edited to go on the YouTube channel.

  • When I started this, I didn't offer paid movie requests so this was my compromise. Even though I have paid requests now, I'm still continuing with MotM because it's fun and members really like it!

How do I qualify?

  • Be an Active member, which means no declined payments outstanding when I do the draw

  • Total pledge history of at least $24 CAD (does not have to be consecutive)

  • Why doesn't everyone qualify? I use it to reward members that have (or will) be here for a while, or who choose to support more $ up front

  • Winners must reply to me within 72 hours or I will re-draw. Note that winners are excluded from the next 11 months of draws so that each calendar year has 12 different winners

How do I upgrade or downgrade to a different tier, or switch to an Annual Membership?

  • You can do this in your Membership settings. You can visit this help article for specific steps, and learn about how upgrading or downgrading impacts your payments, whether you are pledged monthly or annually.

  • Annual Memberships come with a 10% discount and is a way to save money if you will be here long-term!

Can I pledge a custom amount to you instead of choosing a specific tier?

  • Unfortunately no, because you will be locked out of all of my Patreon content! I kindly ask that you join one of the tiers and then you can edit the amount afterwards to a higher amount.

  • Alternatively, you can send a tip one-time or recurring through my Ko-fi page.

I cancelled my membership and it asked me if I want to stay on as a free member. What does that mean?

  • Free membership allows you to see and comment on all of my posts that are set to free members only or to the public. It's a great way to stay up-to-date, but you are able to cancel this as well. Folks who have never been part of this Patreon community as a Paid Member can become a Free Member too!

I want to send you a gift! Do you have a P.O. Box?

  • As an alternative to a PO Box, I have a wishlist on Throne. Throne is a way to purchase gifts for a creator while keeping your information and their information private. My wishlist contains items that I have added myself, but you can suggest gifts for me. You can also send me Surprise Gifts! You're limited to Throne's partnered stores for those, but it's still a way to send me something that isn't on my wishlist at all. On my wishlist, every item priced over $50 CAD is set up as a Community Funded Gift where multiple people can contribute. 😊 I don't give out my PO Box publicly for privacy reasons.

Oh I see, thank you. Correct, I don't link directly to the videos - the only ones I do are the free reactions available to the public. I am just uploading the thumbnail image. However, within each post is a link to the specific page on my website where the reaction is located. In your Welcome notes and right in this post actually is where I explain that my reactions are accessed on my website. I also provide a link to a video that shows you exactly how to access my reactions. Essentially, you will want to click the Login with Patreon button on my website before you click on the reaction of your choice.
