Hey, Kaiielle! The non-canon micro-series that precedes this episode chronicles Year 1 of the war. Elements that carry over into the canon series are the Jedi body armor, Anakin's knighthood, Anakin's facial scar, Threepio's golden plating and the first encounter with Asajj Ventress. Admiral Wullf Yularen is a recurring character but he was seen in "A New Hope" as an older man in a white uniform during the briefing scene where Vader chokes out the obnoxious Imperial who maligns the Force! Always keep in mind how present-day allies will be future adversaries when watching Anakin, Yularen and the clones. Don't count out Admiral Trench. He's been thought dead before!
