What We Watched Week of July 1 [Insiders]

I think that what makes a reaction channel ultimately successful is the _authenticity_ of the reactor. You have that in spades! Don't change that. I'm surprised and sorry to hear you've received such comments about your voice. As with most things on the internet, I'm sure it's a minority of very miserable people who'd say something like that. I think your voice is great! As I was watching the episode, you started to say something and for a second I thought it was a voice-over by Jessica Jones, because you both speak in a lower register voice and with a similar cadence. That's all I meant with my comment. I hope that's how you interpreted the comment, too.

FWIW: I watch all sorts of reactions from all varieties of folks...but I only have paid for Patreon for a few. One thing I never care about is what the reactor looks like. I'm interested in what they have to say...and, as long as they aren't saying it in some put-on self-infantalising babytalk voice, I'm good. I know it's the nature of the beast that these are things that will occasionally itch inside your brain...and that makes me sad. People should be able to exist as they are (even -gasp- in the public eye) without people thinking that it's okay to critique such irrelevant details. To me it's an extension of "debate the position, not the person". If what someone is saying resonates with you (or doesn't) that is what you should focus on, not what they look like or how they sound (unless it triggers some sort of sensory ick for you...we can't help those...but those are an individual's own cross to bear and we should never attempt to change someone else to make them more pleasing to our ears or eyes!) That's a lot of words for "please try not to let other people's hang-ups impact your own perception of you."

Oh it is! Don't worry haha. I love that you think I sound like Krysten Ritter. Your comment just prompted me to talk about the *opposite* experience a bit!
