Kurzgesagt 12,017 – A Patreon exclusive update! (Patreon)

Right now we are doing a huge amount of work behind the scenes, we are finally tackling a few topics that are so big that we just can’t fit them into „normal“ videos.
The biggest video by far this year will be „AI & the Singularity“. A huge monster of a video that makes our lives pretty miserable. Right now it looks like it will be a 15-20 minute long. This is a nightmare of epic proportion. I have no idea when this one will be finished, hoping for late summer. But yeah. The only official goal is to have it out this year.
On top of that monster of a video we will do at least four videos that are around 10 minutes long in 12,017. Enough to explain certain topics in more detail. Right now there are four videos actively being worked on:
- GMO Food (super non controversial, nobody will be mad about this one *sobs*)
- Automation (Part 1)
- Unconditional Basic Income (Part 2)
- The Simulation Argument (We are not the first to do this topic but frankly, almost all videos about this topic are just clickbait because Elon Musk once talked about this at a conference. So we thought we actually try to explain this topic properly. Hopefully it won’t suck. Its probably the most „Fermi Paradox“ Video we made since a while.)
- On top of that we are crunching to have a video about European Union ready before France has its election. We still don’t want to do too much politics but the events of last year made us realize that we also can’t just be bystanders. This video will of course also be super non controversial and nobody will send us angry and hateful emails about it *sobs a bit more*.
The next 2-3 video will be „smaller“ videos. By which I mean more or less „regular“ Kurzgesagt videos about star stuff. The next one that will be out in two days is a collaboration with another youtube channel. Curious what you think about it!
Just so you know, even if we are a bit slow right now and the coming videos are not groundbreaking, there is a lot going on behind the scenes. These big projects take up so much time that there is basically no other options then to split the team and have one group fill the cannel with videos and the other group prepare the big projects.
