I loved the video. Interesting that there are more viruses than living things on Earth.

Most, if not all videos with Gates Foundation are so hope-inducing. Thank you!

Another beautiful production! Love the Worms homage in there too 😀

Nice. Minor nit: the singular of "bacteria" is "bacterium".

Can’t they evolve to be able to infect human cells tho?

Super bugs + antibiotic overuse has been a concern of mine for a few years now. Brilliant video. Keep up the great work.

Can you link to an article about the patient that was mentioned?

This is why triclosan-soaked and alcohol-swabbed everything is one of the dumbest things we as a species have ever done. Mere soap is effective. There is no need to go further than this for everyday cleanliness. Dousing the world in antibiotics assures that only the fittest and fiercest bugs will survive, and then ravage and kill us all.

Crissa Kentavr

Very true, using antiseptics daily rather than mechanical removal is a bad idea. But alcohol swabbed is useful in other ways as rubbing alcohol is a different kind of solvent than water. At any rate, it’s a mechanical method for drying out or removing stains or bacteria.

Crissa Kentavr

No, they specialize in bacteria. On the other hand, yes, that’s what viruses came from.

Mark Dowman

Wonderful! Loved the use of the Wilhelm Scream at 5:12.
