Hi everyone, well... somehow we've made it to another Thursday, which means it's time to call upon our brilliant supporters to help beef up the #content for the upcoming DF Direct Weekly #138, filming tomorrow.

We'll be sharing first thoughts on the PlayStation Portal (which only arrived on Wednesday, unfortunately), maybe taking a look at the new Suicide Squad trailer, and we'll be updating on EA WRC on PC. We've not looked at it yet, but EA got in touch promising that it's improved. John will be sharing his thoughts on the new RetroTink 4K's $750 price-point, and if I can find the time, I'll have the ROG Ally vs Steam Deck OLED benchmarks and commentary people keep asking me for/about.

Do you have any news topics you'd like us to discuss in this week's Direct? Or do you have specific questions about anything in general you'd like the team to share their thoughts on? Feel free to let us know in the ubiquitous comments box that inevitably, you will find 'below'. Thanks!

Hi DF, hoping that you are reading this and will take a minute to help a fellow gamer out. I’ve been trying to play AW2 but get migraines after just a couple of minutes of play on PC. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X Nvidia 3080 RTX (12GB) Kingston Fury Beast 32GB RAM (DDR5 6000MT/s) Western Digital Black SN850 NVME (2TB) I’m playing on a LGC1 OLED TV at 4K with G-sync enabled and Vsync. I’ve been playing video games all my life and have never experienced this issue before. Some say it’s because the field of view is too low so I went into the game’s ini file and increased from 1.0 to 2.0. Unfortunately this didn’t help. I then capped the frame rate to 40fps in Nvidia control panel and then at 30. Neither worked. In fact, according to Nvidia’s frame counter which I have enabled, the frame rate continues to fluctuate above the capped frame rates. I also tried slowing the turn speed of the in-game camera but that hasn’t helped either. At this point I’m out of ideas. It’s weird, I’m also currently playing Cyberpunk 2.0 and Robocop. Both games have wildly fluctuating frame rates but G-sync saves the day and gives the games a smooth gameplay experience. AW2 also looks smooth to my eye. I can’t visually detect any abnormalities. What so you guys say?

GENTS - The Playstation Portal - can anyone finally answer the question - Does it allow you to use it just as a controller (with the screen off) - and if not, why not - and is there any kind of workaround that you can think of? Also - people are saying that the screen is surprisingly good for an LCD; but that it lacks HDR - Thoughts? Would the steam deck OLED be a better home streaming device for the PS5?

Why do you think they will be able to help you with this, in a DF Direct?
