Another good film analogy would be if they only gave you almost finished Vfx and said they will patch in the finished ones at a later date. Although I do love the imagery of a stuttering lightsaber.

Wonder if you guys might be interested in taking a look at For Honor on PS5? The game was accidentally patched on this platform only, to have an upcoming performance mode they're planning for the current gen consoles. Framerates seem to be roughly in the 75 to mid 90s in actual gameplay depending on mode and load. 80-120 on menus depending on what's happening. (Maybe actually 40-60 with frame doubling?) Based on the VRR info that can be brought up on an LG CX. Looks so much smoother. VRR is of course a huge boon too. I don't have the proper tools for accurate analysis. Some people in the community have tried to take a look at it, but they aren't the most experienced with this stuff either. The game already had a 60 fps upgrade for current-gen consoles but we know they're working on a further performance mode and this seems to be it, presumably in an unfinished state. Could be an interesting little vid? Video from a community member for reference. Not sure his perf numbers are correct and it would be interesting to have info about res and other aspects too? https://youtu.be/bj0qQLGdGkA

It feels the DF team’s time could be better spent on other things. Spend less time doing QA for the devs (unless they want to pay you 😉). Is it possible to come up with enough info for potential consumers of these games in less than 10 minutes of video? Do some games deserve to be put into a small discussion on the DF weekly and a bullet list of pros and cons on eurogamer as compared to be given the privilege of a dedicated DF video? When is it appropriate to revisit and update gamers on games that have a bad launch?

Another good reason to never pre-order games. It seems the term "Gold" is less and less respected by majors of the industry. Is there no ISO standard for the industry? Or is it just not ignored?

I feel for ya Alex, i was so looking forward to playing this on my LG C9. Just regarding a dedicated PC review comment, SkillUp mostly does dedicated PC reviews and also did not recommend it due to the performance issues he had on two PCs. He always calls out DF to get a deeper dive and a more technical review of a game. Being less technical focused, I find his reviews compliment Alex reviews.

I appreciate the continued coverage on the environmental impact of games, especially on the energy consumption side of things. Keep up the good work!
