Hello! It's the last working week of 2022 and regardless, we still have a lot of work going on. Alex, Will and Tom will be finishing up by mid-week and taking their vacations, while John, Oliver and I (Rich) will be at it to the bitter end! Here's what's cooking:

* Rich (ie me) will be following up on the UE5 on Steam Deck video and may well be putting together a 'Best Hardware of 2022' round-up - though right now, there's only three pieces of hardware that I think deserve to be picked out.

* John is finishing up the adaptation of the Final Fantasy 13 video into two chunks for publication on YouTube over the holiday break. Of course, all DF Supporters have access to the full, unedited version as of now. He's also enjoying putting together his Games of the Year compilation.

* Alex is up against it in finishing his Witcher 3 PC video before heading off for this well-earned vacation. I've watched the first 13 minutes (for error checking/quality control) and it's awesome!

* Tom will have two videos for you this week - Witcher 3 on Series X/PS5, with a follow-up piece of content on the Series S version.

* Oliver is operating at maximum warp right now! He's completed #content on Crisis Core Reunion on PS5, Series X, Series S and Switch, complete with PSP and even Final Fantasy 7 Remake comparisons. He's also working on a video exploring GTA5's ray-traced reflection upgrade, and he's helping us out on Christmas content.

In terms of festive fare, in addition to the DF Retro episode on Final Fantasy 13, the most recent DF Retro Play on Super NES 3D games that don't use SuperFX will be going public, Best Graphics 2022 will be appearing, plus there's a DF Let's Play on the path-traced version of Quake, featuring both campaign and deathmatch play. Lots to keep you occupied while we're away on vacation!

Hope you have a good week!

Will we get each staff’s game collection of 2022? Last year’s collections were extremely interesting, driving me to play a ton of games I wouldn’t have heard of otherwise.

Definitely John's, but owing to The Witcher 3, Alex won't have time. We might see GOTYs from Oliver and Tom M but it'll be down to their schedules.

Hope the team enjoys a well deserved break with friends and family. 2023 is going to be heavy. Rest and recharge well guys! Thanks for being a guiding light for serious technical reporting in the gaming media and discourse. <3

Seems like a strong lineup to me, very nice to see! I know we're not quite there yet, but just in case it gets buried beneath everyone else: Happy Holidays to the entire Digital Foundry Team! I enjoyed so much of your (almost =) mandatory coverage - especially your perspectives on so many topics surrounding the hobby and passion we all share: gaming technology! It's important to have your voice heard, so many technical details get overlooked or swept under the rug by more mainstream outlets these days, but hey - to each their own. So for what it's worth - Best wishes to Alex, Audi, John, Oliver, Richard, Tom and last -but certainly not least- Will! Habt' ein paar schöne Feiertage und erholt euch alle gut. Auf wiedersehen =P

I can only imagine the amount of work this Witcher 3 release will require, especially due to the many new settings and issues with the PC. God speed men!

Sounds like a jam-packed way to end the year - thanks Rich, and thanks the entire DF crew. Have a fantastic holiday break!
