Hi everyone, we've just posted a Eurogamer story about improvements to The Callisto Protocol's awful PC port - and the good news is, that the #StutterStruggle is mostly over. However, we've still got issues with the port... we'll be talking about this in the next DF Direct, but Alex decided to package up a quick video for you in the meantime.

There's good news about The Callisto Protocol on PC - but there's still some way to go before we have a decent port...

Sincerely hoping that UE5 doesn't have shader compilation stutter by the time the wave of in-production UE 5 titles actually hit the market. Fingers crossed that the upcoming Fortnite UE5 coverage doesn't show the issue.

so is it recommended to use FSR 2 Balanced with a 4090?

Shader pre-compilation is an obvious fix. Makes me wonder if this could be improved upon further. Say, by having Steam already run it while the rest of the game is still downloading.

Was this done with the patch 1 (12/2) or patch 2 (12/6) that includes more PSO improvements? The video says 7.12.2022 patch, which doesn't map to their versions.

Hi Alex, why did you use FSR2 balanced vs. FSR2 Quality. Quality should provide 60fps too... At least it kind of does on my 5800X3D and RTX4090....
