Hi there folks! Some retro re-release games offer a "wide display" option, like the recent Capcom Fighting Collection, where the game fills the 16:9 screen entirely. I've always thought that was awful option but today I kinda see an interest in that: playing on CRT. Would you have tried that ? Does it scale nicely? Or does it introduce shimmer and similar bad stuff?

I bought some transparent plastic cases to protect some more fragile cartboard boxes, like the ones for Super Famicom, Super Nes, N64 or Game Boy. But I feel like those cases break the "proximity" I have with my games, like I'm protecting them under a glass bell. That must sound a little mental but as someone who thinks games are meant to be played, that's exactly how it feels. I'm really wondering if I'm not gonna take them out again to get direct access to them back on my shelves. What's your personnal policy about that... fetish matter? 😅

What are some of your favorite freeware/shareware games? Nothing with microtransactions or retail games given away as a free promo on epic, ps+, etc. Examples: OpenTTD, doom1.wad, Ur Quan Masters.

In light of the Halo split screen let down. What in person co-op games have never let you down? Since its release my friends and I have enjoyed start wars battlefront 2 on the OG Xbox, 4 player split screen conquer the galaxy.

I really enjoyed your shenmue videos. The original game is one I have deep nostalgia for, I played it as a child when the Dreamcast was cutting edge and still like to play through it once a year. I am always fascinated anytime I see a screen shot from the Saturn version. If the Shenmue Saturn version had come out in that generation. Which console at the time do you think would have delivered the best rendition of the game?

Have you guys tried DLSS and FSR on CRT displays? Any interesting differences?

Greetings Retro Bros! Do you have any recommendations for folks looking to dive deeper into the Nihon Falcom catalog from the 8/16/32-bit era? I managed to finish a playthrough of Ys Book I & II and the YS IV translation on the PCE CD-ROM ROM and was pretty blown away.

What’s a special edition game or console you view as your white whale or even the crown jewel of your collection? Mine was the Panzer Dragoon Orta Xbox before I sold it to a collector. Nowadays it’s the sakura wars Dreamcast i modded out the wazoo

I got a question for primarily Audi: We europeans often got the shaft when it comes to 50hz games being released in europe with often slower game speeds and extra boarders at the top and bottom of the screen. While I understand that people often ”hunt for perfection” these days PAL releases are often shunned and dismissed because they simple are worse than their NTSC equivalents. Does Audi (or John) for that matter have any love towards the old PAL releases? I grew up with them and still play and collect PAL games but I feel that I’m the odd one out as almost everyone prefer NTSC games.

Hi guys! While there are many Mega Drive collections for various systems and even official mini consoles, Sega seems to hardly embrace or even recognize the Master System. What do you think is the reason for this? Obviously the Mega Drive was far more successful back in the day and 16 Bit games have aged quite a bit better than 8 Bit games, but are there other factors at play? (I.e. licensing) While Sega might get a pass on the Saturn and Dreamcast due to emulation difficulties, shouldn’t the Master System be a no brainer?
