Content

Hi everyone - it's Rich here with your regular scheduled update on what's happening in the world of Digital Foundry. The #content meeting is now complete and this is what we are up to:

* Rich (ie me) will be powering through AyaNeo Air coverage. I've had this for some time and I rather like it - poor battery life aside - but my friends at Nintendo Life have loaned me their AyaNeo Air Pro so I can see whether the bigger battery in there addresses its primary weakness.

* Alex is well into his coverage of Intel's XeSS upscaler, a teaser image of which I have embedded above. Expect a God of War FSR 2.0 level investigation along with some answers to other questions that hang in the air - cross-vendor compatibility, for example. Expect this Weds/Thurs if all goes to plan. Expect Premium/Retro tier bonus material!

* Tom is taking a look at The Tomorrow Children's PS4/Pro/PS5 revamp!

* Oliver completes his Soul Hackers content and then moves onto another project - perhaps an investigation into AI art generation, as he's got some interesting stuff to share there.

* John hopes to look at the Halo Infinite split-screen situation, but is also looking at embargoed content 'dropping' later this week.

* Will begins the gargantuan task of revamping our GPU test suite with the upcoming arrival of Intel Arc graphics offerings (we expect to be reviewing the A770 and A750 first). New games, more games and a total revamp of our horribly out of date RT suite - only Alex Battaglia's Corridor of Doom from Control will likely make it into the new line-up.

Let us know if there's anything we should be covering - and of course, we stand ready to pivot but in the meantime, I hope you have a busy, enjoyable and productive week! Oh - and DF Direct Weekly returns this Saturday for all supporters.

Glad to see the Corridor of Doom lives on. Looks like a pretty cool week, and I'm particularly interested in that Tomorrow Children video. I've wanted to try that game for ages, so a PS5 revamp would be a great excuse.

Excited to see xess

Would love to see a short video comparing temporal injection in spiderman to dlss/FS2 in the future but understands that Alex has more important work to do right now. If temporal injection is obviously worse then maybe you only need to compare a few scenes to drive home the argument

Since Alex has finally arrived in OLED-town: Please, do an optimized settings/first-use/unboxing kind of video with your RTX3090.

Looks like you're all at capacity, but has Steelrising releasing at the end of the week caught your attention?

... it's a Steampunk Soulslike set in 18th Century France, in an alt-History where Louis put down the revolution with an army of automatons.

I'm sure John is working on Biomutant PS5/XboxSX versions coming out this month

Biomutant on switch will have 16k support or imax compatibility ?

Any chance for a Series S catch up video? Where you cover gams like Dying Light 2 and Cyberpunk, that didn't launch with 60fps performance modes, but were added later?

Xess is ssex backwards. I’m sure I’m not the first to mention this but I thought it sounds be shared.

Whatever happened to the insomniac games image reconstruction video

I would love it if John/Audi made a retro special on Turtles and the Cowabunga Collection :)

The Intel DIrect happened, then we were given exclusive access to XeSS. So it's in the pipeline but other more important #content got in the way. This has been an object lesson in not explicitly promising specific follow-ups during videos - we only have limited staff and limited hours and pivots seem to happen all the time without warning.

Cool, excited to see it but don’t want you guys working yourselves to death! Thanks
