Hello there! A little later than usual (things have been busy, right?) but here's your update for the week here on Digital Foundry.

First of all, many thanks for the questions and comments on the Xbox presser! We will be making a DF Direct special on it, but we will be waiting to watch the second show on June 14th in order to make something a little more substantial. We've got enough to talk about, but if we critique certain titles that suddenly look better outside of the often dull trailers we saw... well, the games deserve that second look, right?

In terms of the tasks in the offing, here's what's on the 'to do' list.

* John is taking point on the Starfield video - we've certainly got lots to talk about here.

* Alex is very enthusiastic about the new Forza Motorsport reveal and will be producing a standalone report on it.

* Oliver has just completed his The Last of Us Part 1 trailer breakdown. Yes, YouTube is awash with graphics comparisons but this is genuinely great work that stands apart. Beyond that, he stands ready and waiting for the Resident Evil patches! Also: he's still working on the docked Steam Deck video.

* Tom is back after vacation, after which he was somewhat under the weather. He's back now and will be easing into work. We may separate out the Resi remakes from Resi 7, depending on how the upgrades look. So he'll possibly be handling that.

* Rich (ie me) is finishing off the From Software 30fps thing, but stands ready to pivot. We'll likely push publication of the From piece until later this week or possibly later. Reports like this can be buried in 'E3' time so it's about timing it correctly.

* Audi should hopefully have the new DF Retro Q+A video up for retro supporters later this week. He also arranged a big DF Developer Interview which should be taking place this week and be available next week.

* Will is posting our Ryzen 7 5800X3D review this week. Interestingly, while going toe to toe with Core i9 12900K, it's not quite the all-out winner we thought it would be. We are moving to a new platform for the next-gen GPUs and we've settled on 12900K with DDR5 test systems.

Early access for Premium and Retro supporters? Well, soon after this post, there'll be another one with the T-Loo Part 1 video, so look out for that. Any and all content we finish early will go out to you as early as we can.

In the meantime, for those of you who've watched John's excellent Horizon Forbidden West video - either today or in early access yesterday - do check out the accompanying Eurogamer article, where you'll get all of the information shared to us by Guerrilla Games on how the patch was made: https://www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-2022-horizon-forbidden-wests-upgraded-performance-mode-delivers-a-dramatic-improvement

As usual, all comments and suggestions are welcome!

Nice one, when i saw the second showcase i had a sigh of frustration on your behalf incase you had already recorded the direct :P i dont understand how microsoft can be so terrible at communication, why not mention in the main showcase that a more in depth look was coming?
