I’ve seen at least one other person mention it, but I would also like to know if there’s any interest on DF’s side about the Resident Evil Village and No Man’s Sky ports to the Apple Silicon macs. I think it’s and interesting thing they’ve done, kind of slowly making gaming in general more accessible (I mean, kind of) to Mac users with Apple Arcade and whatnot and now this. Any thoughts, if any, DF has about this would be appreciated

Hello DF crew, i have been learning more about ray tracing and path tracing starting with the 'Ray tracing Gems' books and quake 2 rtx presentations... I see descriptions that describe path tracing as an extension of ray tracing. I have also seen them being described as distinct from one another. The overall picture i get is that there is a gradient from ray tracing to path tracing ( Metro Exodus devs describe their work on enhanced edition as path tracing for example). So to boil it down, what is path tracing and how is it different to ray tracing? Alex is not allowed to answer! No i joke, give me them deets Alex!

Hello all, have any of you ever wanted/attempted to make a game of any sort yourselves, or even together? It seems to me that it could have been a potential path for each of you. If you have not, then what kind of game would you want to make, and with what technological emphasis? Thanks.

I remember when John kindly answered my question about the PSTriple being played on a CRT is the best fit for the console. After your amazing PS3 triple video, do you still feel that way? I've been switching between a CRT and using the Retrotink 5X, taking advantage of the impressive firmware updates for 720p.

Hi folks, what are the odds that future consoles move to even further customized inhouse processors akin to what apple is doing with the M1/M2? As x86 processors seem to be ballooning in cost and power consumption, could the future be in ARM or even RISC-V based consoles?

Hello team ! What game do you like going back to, every year or more ? Do I need to mention that Crysis is not a valid answer ? :)

Now that COD is exclusive to this gen, do you think it'll bring a more consistent 120fps experience, or is this still asking for too much?

Having a Gen4 NVME drive in my PS5 is great, but is it worth it on a PC if most games won't take advantage of it without DirectStorage support? I've seen a number of videos, such as by Linus Tech Tips, showing comparable performance of Gen3 and Gen4 drives, and even standard SATA SSDs, so would it be preferable to stick to a Gen3 or SATA if it's significantly less expensive? Thank you for all your hard work and videos!

Greetings, DF! Richard, my memory may be a bit fuzzy, but I seem to recall you mentioning that you still have a working launch-day PS3 during one of the Sony E3 Conference videos. If that is indeed the case, what is your secret? I've purchased two back-compat models over the years, and they both wound up getting the dreaded "Yellow Light of Death", despite taking measures to maintain them (regularly cleaning out the internals, keeping them in dust-free environments, replacing the thermal paste, etc.). I'm just wondering if there's anything special you've done with yours to keep it in a pristine state after all these years. Or have the horror stories of high failure-rates in BC PS3s been over-exaggerated, and I've simply had bad luck? (P.S. Do you ever use your Chad Warden Machine to go back and dabble in the "gem" that is Rogue Warrior?)

What are your thoughts about Sony charging €80 for The Last of Us: Part One? To me it feels almost predatory to the fans, they're so invested in the story that they need to invest even more to get the full experience.

Did any of you try out Gravel? I messed around with it a bit on console, but ended up getting the PC version for cheap just now. The upgrade is spectacular from Series X to PC.

I’ve been playing Ace Combat 7 recently and I’m excited about the possibilities what UE5 will bring to the next installment. Along with 3D audio, haptics on PS5 and PSVR2 the next AC should be incredible. What features of UE5 do you expect to see implemented on AC8?

The story is unchanged though. Anyone who feels like the remastered version plays well enough won't feel they miss out on anything
