Hi everyone, Rich here with your scheduled weekly update on what's happening at Digital Foundry. It's been a relatively quiet couple of weeks, but I can only hope to enjoy the levels of relaxation enjoyed by Dogital Foundry in the photo above. Lots cooking, so let's get on with it!

* Rich (ie me) has finally finished the Pro consoles 'in theory' video which is on early access now, likely to go public on Wednesday. Disappointed that a supporter leaked the URL ahead of public release which puts the early access program in jeopardy. Please don't do it. Next project? It's got to be fixing 30fps in From Software games! Today, for the first time, I'm going to be hacking a PlayStation 4.

* John spends this week reaching the conclusion of the big PlayStation 3: Rise and Fall of the 1080p dream video. It's going be an amazing thing for Retro supporters and will roll out a few weeks down the road for all, split into two for public consumption. Yes, it's huge. And yes, supporters get it this week.

* Alex has been spending a lot of time on his long-promised shader compilation #StutterStruggle video but there's still more time required. We're sourcing him a 12900K with high-end DDR5 to see if there's any chance at all that the problem can be brute-forced away. Meanwhile, #content for this week? A new PC time capsule video based on Turok Evolution. Expect lulz.

* Oliver completes work on Sniper Elite 5, then moves onto a more fully fleshed out Steam Deck vs Series S comparison - an attempt at scaling games on the two weakest Zen 2/RDNA 2 APUs out there. We saw some promising results in my Windows testing, but what about SteamOS itself? He's also considering another video based on the Deck's credentials as a docked console and the extent to which Unreal Engine 5 TSR and AMD's FSR 2.0 can actually make it viable for 1080p gaming.

* Tom has booked time off, so don't expect anything from him this week.

* Will is also away for a couple of days, but will have some Eurogamer #content for you, including the RTX 3090 Ti review. Possibly the Ryzen 7 5800X3D review too? I've looked at the data there and found that while it does outperform 12900K in some titles, it's off-pace in others. We will be moving to 12900K as our new test bed for the new wave of GPU testing planned for RDNA 3, Lovelace and Arc.

* Audi will be handling DF Direct Weekly as per the norm, and hopefully we'll see the next DF Retro Play for Retro supporters too.

Other stuff for this week? We're aware of the State of Play from Sony on June 2nd. We'll likely discuss this in the next DF Direct Weekly and break-out any individual titles if they deserve further commentary. However, there is a long weekend this week and we'd quite like to take those days off... though that said, John, Alex and I will be recording the Direct first thing on Friday morning.

That's our week set up then - I hope you have a good one too!
