Coming This Week on Digital Foundry (Week 10, 2022) (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone and welcome another new week and another cycle of #content from Digital Foundry. We have an interesting scenario here in that owing to various factors, videos are starting to stack up so it's one of those rare situations where we're actually getting ahead of ourselves.
Those on premium and retro tiers should expect a fair bit of early access this week then, but more than that, it opens the door to sinking a bit more time into existing projects and preparing more intently for one specific future one - specifically the release of Grand Theft Auto 5 on Xbox Series machines and PlayStation 5.
So, hot on the heels of this week's #content meeting, here's where we are:
* Tom finishes up Elden Ring last generation coverage before moving on to either Triangle Strategy or prep-work for GTA5. His piece on Xbox One X Elden Ring running on Series X also goes live soon and may well go on early access later today for premium/retro tiers.
* Alex is working full tilt on Shadow Warrior 3 - his next project depends on where GTA5 is going to land.
* John and Audi are still working on the next big DF Retro episode, which covers the early days of Gran Turismo. This one's going to be amazing but it's going to require a lot of work - expect that to land beyond this week.
* Rich (ie me) continues to work on Elden Ring Steam Deck which is turning into an intriguing story to say the least. I've also been capturing every game I've played on it, which may well translate into content.
* Oliver is working on Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection for Switch.
* Will is working on DDR4/DDR5 testing specifically with gaming in mind.
It's worth noting here that as of this writing, we do not have GTA5 code, but ultimately, it's been a long time since we've looked at the game and we'll need to update our existing assets. I also think stacking up the new versions against PC at its best might be worth doing - for this game we need to know how the current-gen versions compare, of course, but we're kinda curious about what to expect generally from the upgrades.
That's all for now. We did get some requests for GRID Legends, I'll see about code there and how it could slot into workloads. If there's anything else we should be checking out, do let me know. Have a great week!
