Many thanks for discussing my question. Thanks to John for the mentioning Criterion DVD / Blu ray releases. They're the perfect analogy. They take the original content and present it in the most pristine manner, while respecting all the descisons made during creation. So....where does one get a pristine OG Star Wars Trilogy? :)

One third party example that I'd say has matched Sony's first party in regards to using the storage API is in Resident Evil 8. It loads phenomenally quickly on PS5, and I believe is the only version to lack loading screens altogether. To my eye, it's just as quick to boot and get in game as Ratchet or Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut.
