UPDATE: This post has now been updated with the new version of the Direct, which adds the Xbox SSD testing and updates the Abandoned story with a look at the patch.

Far be it for me to blame Friday the 13th, but last week was a bit of a trial for Digital Foundry! Due to circumstances outside of our control, our Crysis 2 Remastered content was pushed back a week, Rich bricked a Series S, the Shadow of the Tomb Raider analysis was delayed - and that's actually the tip of the iceberg, hence fewer than expected updates.

Continuing the challenges, our lead news item for this week in DF Direct Weekly - the Abandoned debacle - will likely also need to be tweaked, as last night the 'real-time trailer' app was actually updated with... the Twitter teaser! We're likely to tweak, add to or perhaps even remove this segment altogether for the full public release on Monday but we thought we'd share what we think of this bizarre situation with our Patreon supporters regardless. Hope you enjoy the show!

Join Rich Leadbetter, John Linneman and Alex Battaglia for the latest DF tech chat - the team tried putting an Xbox SSD in a PS5 to disastrously disappointing results, before moving on to cover Abandoned, its disastrous trailer reveal and the conspiracy theories surrounding it, before moving onto the problematic Radeon RX 6600 XT. Regarding guests I would love to see evilboris and/or the guy from hdtv test to talk about current and best upcoming TVs as well as future display technology

Christoph Zürcher

I think Tiago Sousa (formerly Crytek, now id) would be an interesting guest.

With no disrespect intended to anyone, I’d prefer you folks expanded the list of guests for a while before inviting anyone back.

The SSD could still potentially work with a bit of work. This video cloned the series x SSD to a similar SSD. Maybe something with how its default formatting is done. Maybe putting it on a PC first to format, then using it in the PS5 might yield results (some of the comments have interesting suggestions) https://youtu.be/nyKUVmJmAGY

Would love to see Mark Cerny as as guest. If that is possible? :)
