Coming this week on Digital Foundry (Week 25, 2021) (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone, Rich here. It's Monday, meaning that the Digital Foundry team reconvenes for another week of work, starting with the content meeting where we decide what we're doing.
* We have a special guest post this week covering Final Fantasy 14, not just on PlayStation 5, but on every PlayStation console, with footage going all the way back to 2010. Likely to run at the weekend, but it's phenomenal stuff - not just a PS5 analysis, but more like a complete document on the game's history and how it stands today.
* Tom is going to be looking at the version of Cyberpunk 2077 you'll actually be able to buy from the PlayStation Store now it's back, and how it looks on PS4, Pro and PS5.
* If all goes to plan, Tom will also be looking at Scarlet Nexus.
* John is moving onto some very nice retro projects with backup support from Audi, obviously!
* AMD's FSR is coming - and Alex will be taking point on that one. We're also considering a look at the DLSS 2.2 stealth update which we can confirm improves quality still further.
* Rich (ie me) will be looking at the PlayStation 5 version of Call of Duty Warzone, now it's running at 120Hz. And yes, I'm aware it's a PS4 app. Not 100% on this, but I may prepare the whole video at 120Hz for download.
* Looking for bargains? It's Amazon Prime Day, so Will will be sharing all on @dealsfoundry on Twitter.
* DF Direct Weekly will be back in its usual slot, so look out for the call for questions on Wednesday, filming on Thursday, early access to Premium and Retro tiers on Saturday, public release on Monday.
* Still looking to do the Watch Dogs Legion 60fps patch!
Expect more early access opportunities, another Classic FPS Remastered, plus some nice retro content - we'll be talking to Joe Modzeleski about speedrunning tech, reverse engineering retro games and the Carbon Engine. Plus there'll be a Q+A stream for retro backers this Friday.
Lots going on!
