Coming this week on Digital Foundry (Week 20, 2021) (Patreon)
Content
Hi there, it's time to talk #content and what we are up to this week. I'll try to keep this one short and sweet having just written an epic length post for the 120fps media testing: https://www.patreon.com/posts/120fps-video-can-51351099
So, everyone was present and correct at the content meeting this morning, with the exception of Tom who was taking a breather after completing the Mass Effect Legendary Edition video over the weekend. Three versions, two performance modes - plus capture of the original Xbox 360 Mass Effect. Logistically a bit challenging! But let's get right to it:
* John is working on something secret, no absolute confirmation on when it will drop but hopefully this week.
* Rich is picking up the pieces on the old RTX 3080 mobile testing he did a while back but didn't get around to finishing, along with a bunch of other stuff.
* Alex is working on his video for Days Gone on PC, which we would hope to see running tomorrow.
* Will has now finished testing on the Core i5 11400F, which is looking like a pretty incredible CPU for the price - quite possibly the best price vs performance part on the market. We've tested this on an MSI MAG B560M Mortar WiFi board on 'out of the box' settings with 3600MHz RAM and it's up there with a 10900K (!)
Supporter content? This week, look out for a new Retro Pick-Ups video, the second part of our Bloodborne 1080p60/4K AI Upscaled drop, plus we're trying to do something a little bit special with the work that John is doing. There'll also be some Classic FPS Remastered once Rich has revisited the archives! There may well be a surprise or two coming across the week too.
Hope you enjoyed the update - and indeed the big increase to frequency on Patreon posts! The aim with the relaunch was to bring our supporters closer to the team so it's stuff like this and our presence on the Discord where we set out to achieve this. We're finding it really rewarding in terms of feedback and positivity in a world where even a single tweet can ruin your day. So thanks for that!
