Mattel signed off on the Barbie movie, inspired by the fact that Sony signed Rage Against the Machine.

I'm a little surprised by all the Barbie love from the guys. I thought it was funny flick for 2/3 of it and I had a good time at the theatre watching it. I found Ken's journey to be hilarious. The points on the patriarchy and female empowerment were valid but ultimately the flick as a whole was like a gumball... sweet candy on the outside but pretty hollow on the inside... as I expected. All in all I would give it a 7/10... very well made and fun, but I think I'd be fine if I never watched it again.
