Weekly Update (Patreon)

Yeah, you read that right. I’m doing my weekly update on a Friday night.
This week was a bit disastrous in term of work.

1st, life got in the way. And while I am more than happy to go with my natural rhythm and be on a night shift for a little while, the rest of the world seems determined to wake me up :P

Also, the commission took me a lot longer than expected, not that it was so complicated, but I didn’t know anything about that show, so I needed a lot of visual research before knowing what to do with it and feel like I know enough to be interested in it.

It’s hard to explain, but if I don’t care about the characters, I won’t care about the picture, it will probably take me forever to draw it and turn out like shit. So, sometime, like this time around, I need to find a way to get invested in it. It’s a weird process, but it worked.

I’m kinda tying to do the same with the next commission, but it’s an OC character, so it will be a slightly different method, probably based on the positioning and situation. We’ll see.

So this took me a day and a half longer than I had hoped, and yesterday, I just didn’t have any inspiration. Probably due to the fact that I didn’t take the weekend off last week and I needed the brake. The fact that I’m still adjusting to intermittent fasting probably didn’t help (it’s going great by the way)

So now you know. Creativity is a capricious process. Some weeks are easier than other and it is unpredictable.

Finally, the reason I’m writing all this today instead of Sunday as usual is: I’m going to be vaccinated on Sunday, and I have NO idea how I will feel. I have a few friends that told me it hit them really hard for a day or so, while other barely felt it. I'll just have to take it and hope for the best.

I’m going to take the weekend off, and I’m be back as soon as I can.
