It is the holiday season. At least in America. Holidays are often a time of too much family and not enough time. We hope you enjoy a bit of dark humor from us -- this is a sneak peek at the post-roll after the news that will be posted later today.

Was going to swap the audio channels but the day ran a bit long. We've almost got our audio sorted out, though. Thanks very much to all our Patrons. I suspect we'll be adding some more behind-the-scenes photos soon as well.

Greatest Thanksgiving Ever! | Level1Techs

This is a Patron-sponsored sneak peek at what is coming at the end of the news broadcast tonight around midnight eastern time. Discliamer! : The historical evidence of smallpox blankets is mainly around military letters discussing the possibility, not direct historical evidence. Many native americans became infected through contact with settlers, and all that.

Haha! Love it! Forgive my ignorance of American history, but was the giving of blankets with small pox a deliberate act to infect the Indians, or was that just an unfortunate result of the Indians not being as immune as the pilgrims might have been? I get that it killed everyone, but from what I understand it was a disease that was completely foreign to the Americas, so perhaps the Indian's might have been super-susceptible to it has compared to the pilgrims. The pilgrims might not have realised what they were doing.

The only historical evidence was two people at a particular fort discussing the pox "strategy" via letters but there is no confirmation that it did or did not happen.

They almost certainly didn't realize what they were doing, in so much as they wouldn't have known that the natives weren't resistant to it. At least the first time. They may have known the indians would get sick, but not that they would get more sick than the pilgrims.
