The iPad 2018 is a better deal for beginners than most of the 3rd party Chinese tablets I have looked at. I got a 128gb iPad for $250 and a pen for $75. Tilt on pc costs: no screen tablet $70, 12" $300, 19 $500. And the unstable drivers and pc fiddling would have annoyed the person I gifted it the iPad to.

Good review, Thanx

#1 Rule... always use the best tool for YOU when working on any project. I'm a Linux junkie but still use Windows when it's the best tool for the project I'm working on.

no, rule #1 is not to support evil proprietary software

perkindo

Yeah, I totally agree, at least from a personal stand point. But when I'm dealing with clients what they want trumps my personal feelings. I try to give them the choice of open source but if they want Apple or MS that's what they get.

perkindo

Yeah, it sucks, but the client is always right. Even when they're wrong. I've been able to get a few of the smaller clients to switch to open source but it's an uphill battle. I'm going to keep trying though.

Well I continue to be ignored regarding the promised podcast episodes of the news. So I’m a longtime supporter since tek syndicate... In protest I’m withholding further support until my grievances are redressed 😤

I won't be getting an iPad any time soon (OR EVER!!!) but this was still a very helpful video for me as an amateur drawing pad user. Thank you!

Very well presented. Good stuff.

good review,, the reason to buy hardware and/or software is personal, so there is no "problem" . As for a vector drawing program, Inkscape used to run on OSX, i don't know if it stil works i left OSX in favour of Fedora 4 years ago

quite an excellent review. apple has always been excellent for graphic designers. despite me hating apple for using slave children to build their products. for designers they're good. have you tried blender in linux tho?
