LET'S BTS!   This special talk-show was so sweet!
I loved the comedian, the segments where they complimented each other and read fan comments out loud was so fun.
And that last performance at the end was so sweet!
I MISS THEM!

So happy to see this post! I'm still currently watching this so I don't know if it's brought up again but JK had to cover his hand because of his tattoos. Not an injury or anything but it's definitely still sad that he had/has to do that. :(

SirAustin

Oh. I'm glad he wasn't injured! But that's sad Korea is still weird when it comes to visible tattoos.

SuchALittleMonster

Agreed. I saw that he even had to cover the 7 behind his ear (along with his arm and hand) for some of his promotional content for Golden. It still makes me sad every time. Maybe some day that won't be a thing anymore. We can only hope.

mel

oooooh this is the best surprise, i love this one so much 🥹

I love this finally got to watch the full one, I’ve watch some parts on youtube. BTS on You Quiz is one my faves too, like fun games, that one Army appeared on the show, also some deep conversations. I hope you will react to it one day💜

Kye ok kim

Thanks! It’s first time I was able to watch the full program. When you start watching Suchwita you’ll see the host comedian is one the the guests too 😊

I’m still watching, but to answer your question about borahae: I wasn’t there, but as I understand it, the idea of purple came from army. It was a surprise for the (3rd?) muster concert. At the time the army bomb didn’t turn different colours, it was only white. So a fan project developed to surprise bts by covering the bomb with purple tissue paper. I don’t think there was a deep meaning behind using purple specifically, I think it’s just the colour that showed up the best/was most visible? So when BTS finished performing, bowed and looked up, they saw a purple ocean and were surprised! V’s idea about rainbow and “i purple you” came to him in that moment. Very collaborative 💜

It's called dynamite (slow jam remix)

The part about yoongi choosing army’s heart on his first birthday- in Korea on a baby’s first birthday they have a tradition of offering a tray of objects to the baby that represent future careers and whichever the baby chooses is supposedly what he’ll end up doing once grown up. For example, a toy mic would be for singing, a ball would be for an athlete, a gavel for law, etc. I think that part was a reference to this but I could be totally wrong lol.

Yay! Thank you so much for reacting to this. This meant so much to me when it first came out. It was so lovely watching it again with you!

Here’s something fun that you didn’t know only because you haven’t reacted yet, but BTS have described line distribution over the years. Usually in kpop the company decides who gets which lines, etc.. but with BTS, they’ll each try different sections until the group likes the fit of vocals. They’ve spoken about how their decisions aren’t finalized until each member is satisfied with the song. While most K-pop groups are limited by time, BTS knows if it’s not this song that each are dominant, it’ll be the next one, etc. The last thing they want is for any member to feel that they don’t have opportunities. They even joke about screen time too.😅🤣

This was fun. Thanks. Suggestions: Tokopedia

They chose purple to represent the "flower path" that they wanted BTS to walk - I'm guessing they wanted to pick a colour that in nature is only seen in flowers, and perhaps yellow would be too subtle a change from the white. (Red and Blue would probably look too much like fire or the sea). (And it was during a performance of 2!3! which talks about a flower path - hence wanting to make one... though the song itself is about how no one can promise a flower path, and the best they can do is count to 3 and hope for better days.)

He has to cover up his tatts because it is illegal to show them on broadcasting networks in Korea for the fear of influencing teens to turn to the wrong people/direction in life. Some parts of Korea has long painful histories associated with gangs especially after the Korean War. The way that gang members would distinguish themselves from regular people was through their tattoos, and back then almost all tatted people were either gang members or people who had been branded. Fact: It’s very illegal to give and receive tattoos in Korea, but there is not as much crack downs on tattoo parlors or people with them because you can always get tatted outside of Korea, so then, being tatted gets considered as a form of self-harm rather than an illegal act. When I was in Korea, a friend of mine got tatted and the way she could do (as many Koreans do) was by contacting an artist through dms on insta/kakaotalk, showing what they wanted, asking how much it costs and then setting up an appointment at a place that was essentially a ‘studio’ that surprisingly was fully equipped with state of the art tools and equipment. It was Karaoke spot that had a basement where tattoo artists operated out of, but on the front side, it was just an art space. People can’t have tattoo shops openly because Korea will not grant business licenses for a business that is illegal, but nonetheless, people still do tattoos and get tattoos, with all transactions being done in cash.

The way they all knew that Jimin would choose Jungkook is so cute

To answer your question about Purple Austin… before Tae gave purple the meaning he did… The fandom used lots of different colours and had no set colour… Each time Army had an event for the boys different colours or different things were used like glow sticks etc ( we even got our Army bomb later than other fandoms got their light sticks ) During that muster (which Tae also told us about his grandma’s death 49 days prior) it happened to be that the special event had purple cloth to make a purple ocean ( which is common for fandoms to have an official colour like Red for DBSK, Pink for SNSD etc. ). Seeing that Tae who has always liked rainbows etc came up with the analogy he did. From there in the chat in lives when he was down people would send purple hearts to him and it grew from there to officially become the fandom colour with ‘I purple you’ the phrase used. Basically if Tae didn’t assign it the meaning he did it wouldn’t have stuck or keep being used like it did… esp during the period of time Tae was getting bullied by other fandoms and toxic solo’s over his grandmas death etc.💜

AstronautInTHEboX

Hobi got his Tattoo on his Achilles Tendon, btw, since he called Army his Achilles. JK had to wear gloves and long sleeves because Tattoos aren't well received/stigmatized, and some Networks even enforced it, the reason he covered his arm in the soop 1 was because it was shown on TV as well. It all goes back to Gang History, censorship results post-war results and far right governments not progressing and changing broadcasting laws.

I just started to watch this but at 12:42 every time I see Jeff Benjamin now I just get angry ngl. He was one of the people who is suppose to be an "expert" in kpop been doing it for over a decade have seen many male groups serve their country and come back but yet he was part of an article as a journalist saying BTS was breaking up like One Direction did. He has done many of shady things in the past but that one was just the straw that broke the camels back for me. He conveniently had his name removed from the article right after BTS announced they resigned with Big Hit a full year later. I wouldn't trust that guy as far as I can throw him. Okay now back to watching the vid

Sorry didn't mean to sound negative. This was a really great show and I'm glad they were able to do it their way. It was also like a reintroduction to Korean talk shows for them I'm sure it's mainly because how busy they were but also they didn't have many good experiences in the past. And I think they didn't want people to get the wrong idea that they would only do foreign interviews now. I enjoyed the table talk with the letters, it was mostly my favorite part but then the ending with army singing to them was amazing too. They also had a great host that made them feel comfortable he is later on episode of Suchwita.

Farhana

Amazing reaction. You should definitely watch the bts you quiz episode as that is really good too! Also the members have stated On choreo is their hardest

Evan Murray

I miss them so much 💜💜💜💜
