Here is the recording of this month’s Q&A session! It was the last one of the year and it was so cozy and nice. Thanks to everyone who joined in and stayed the entire 2 hours!

Some of the topics covered in this session are:

  • Sketching digitally vs traditionally
  • Mentorship - whether it's helpful for artists
  • Which brushes I use
  • Convention booths
  • Whether I give up on a piece (including a showcase of some pieces I gave up on)
  • Keeping spontaneity in our drawing process
  • Castle de Haar in Utrecht and my controversial take on “real” vs “fake” castles
  • Having the courage to get on stage / impostor syndrome

I hope you enjoy this session! If you have any questions for next month’s session, head on over to the #ask-loish channel in the discord and post it there! Have a wonderful new year’s, lovely flame patrons ❤

Thanks for answering my question about imposter syndrome - I guess I'll keep doing what I've been doing all along to deal with it; nothing XD I honestly think most of it (for me) stems from lack of confidence in myself as an artist, which probably isn't that uncommon lol Looking forward to the English version of that podcast!

Just finished watching the recording and I really appreciated your insights about the importance of rest and not taking yourself so seriously.

Haha! My answer was a bit messy, but yeah, I really do believe it’s best to shift your focus away from “fixing” that feeling and just trying to set your own goals which are authentic to you as much as you can. Indeed, many artists lack confidence but the only way you can build your skills is to try to bypass that feeling as much as you can! Also, such a coincidence: the English version launched a few days ago! You can listen here: https://www.omdenken.nl/zakelijk/flip-thinking-podcast
