Happy (almost) new year's, everyone! We're just a few hours away from 2024. I'm definitely ready to move on to a new year and a clean slate! Here's a little review of how this month has gone for me:

SECRET SANTA

The secret santa event in the discord server was a huge success! It was so amazing to see everyone post their artwork. And literally every single participant delivered, which was 116 of you! What can I say? It's further proof that my patrons are the most wonderful, friendly, talented and kind group of artists out there. Thanks so much to everyone who took part ❤ And thank you to the moderators for helping to manage this event! We want to do more art exchanges next year, so if you have any feedback or ideas, don’t hesitate to let me know. You can comment below, DM me, or drop your feedback in the #suggestion-box in the discord server.

END OF THE YEAR

Another year has passed! That officially makes this Patreon account 3 years old 😱 Thank you so much for supporting me in 2023 - I really appreciate it ❤ It was a rough year for me, art-wise. Struggling with health issues and a drawing injury was not great for my creativity. But things are looking a lot better! I found out I had an iron and vitamin D deficiency, so hopefully taking some supplements will boost my immune system. Also, my arm is healing really fast and is mostly back to normal! I just need to be mindful of my workload and very slowly build up to my previous level of drawing hours. The main game changer there was to switch to voice dictation instead of typing - especially for large chunks of text and emails - and also to lay off the Nintendo switch for a while ;) I miss Hyrule, but I’ll get back to it when I’m all healed up. I’m really looking forward to creating more tutorials and art in 2024, and I can’t wait to share all of it with you! How was this year for your creativity? Do you have any artistic goals for 2024?

Lois, thank you for another incredible year and for all the amazing content you've created for us... even though it's been a challenging and difficult year for you in so many ways. I wish you tons of good health in 2024, lots of time to take it as slow as you need to, and tons of exciting opportunities ahead. May you have more of what you desire, less of what you don't, and find joy in everything you do. Happy New Year! 😊✨ P.S. I'm sorry haven't been as active here over the past couple of months as much, but I'm still enjoying every email notification I get from you. Also -- the portrait challenge was super helpful and gave me a little boost for my short (sanity preservation!) sketchbook sessions I've been doing every day just for me. I've stopped following each reference as closely as I used to, and it's become much easier to deviate from it and bring out something that grabbed me in the first place. Even if my anatomy isn't super proper and sometimes stiff. All this to say, "thank you"! For all the insightful tips, the inspiration, for sharing your journey, for creating this patreon, and for evolving each year in all these beautiful ways and places your art is constantly taking you. It's a pleasure to be following along on your journey. <3
