I made a process video for my reflection painting from last week! Actually, I made two - this one is a screen recording, and I also recorded most of the process with my phone. I’ll be posting that one in a minute! For now, I hope you enjoy this one.

Some information about this process video:

  • It's been sped up by 300%, so three times the original speed.
  • This painting took me about 3.5 hours to make in total.
  • I mainly used brushes from my own brush set - particularly the hard round one. You can find the brush set here.
  • At the end, I copy-paste some underwater photos onto the image and blend it in to get a more convincing underwater look. I got those images from unsplash
  • If you want some helpful resources to make a painting like this one, you could check out my tutorial on rendering water using minimal tools.

I hope you enjoy it ~ the other video is going up right after this so keep an eye out for it!

Loish, I’m a seaside girl for sure and all of your natural/oceanic paintings vibe strongly with me. „Reflection“ however is something so much more—perhaps it’s the stunned, but transfixed expression on the girl that you’ve portrayed with so little detail. It all tells such a story and for me, a very personal one. I wonder if it does to you as well?

P.S is there a way that we Flame Patrons can download your tutorial videos to keep? I find myself going back to certain ones and would *love* to have them when stuck in hospital with poor connectivity or other such anti-internet locations ahaha. Only with your permission, of course :)

hey jacquelyn! unfortunately that's only possible if you're a backer during that specific month, in which case you get the google drive link sent out to you. for now, there's no other way to view the videos besides that and the feed!

thanks so much! it tells a story for me too, i'm working on the different stages of it at the moment but it definitely has some deeper thematic aspects that I'm exploring!
