UPDATE // the last day of June is here! (Patreon)

Now that the month is over, that means we are halfway through the year :0 I just got back from a long driving trip, so now it's time for me to settle back in and shift my focus towards work again. Here's a little overview of how this month went for me:

PROCREATE

As you may have noticed, almost all of my artwork from this month was created in Procreate. I’ve been spending more time just sitting down and trying out different brushes and techniques with it. The main reason I really enjoy it is because I can just casually draw on the couch in the evening, or outside in the backyard. Especially with these warmer days, it feels nicer to have more spontaneity over when and how I draw. I think the artwork that I created is also more spontaneous as a result - more like fun little exercises and doodles than my photoshop art. I’ve also gotten a ton of requests to make Procreate tutorials, so if there’s any specific thing that you struggle with in Procreate, let me know - I’d be happy to tackle that subject in a future tutorial!

VACATION

I went on my yearly summer vacation this month! We took a driving trip to France - a classic choice for any dutch person ;) We started with a week in the Alps near the Vanoise national park, and then we did a week in the south in the Ardèche region. Here are some pictures from the trip:

Now that I’m back, I need to get back into the flow of drawing and working again! That’s always a time when I am out of ideas because my focus has been elsewhere, so I’ll probably be doing some exercises to get my creativity flowing again: studies, sketches, and some WIPs for paintings I want to make in the coming months! I hope you’ll stick around to see what I make!
