Hello lovely patrons! As you might have noticed, Patreon has introduced a new feature, which allows you to join my patreon for free. This means that you get access to public posts like this one! Unfortunately, this doesn't give access to any of the paid content, like tutorials and process videos, which are limited to the spark and flame tier. But it is a way to show support and get access to patron-only posts!

I'm very excited about using this tool to communicate with free members. I have yet to work out a plan for what kind of posts I will make for you. I might make some of the paid content available on the free tier in the future, like a process video or simple resource. I might make it more like a newsletter with monthly updates on my art and patreon content. I need some time to work it out, but for now I want to thank those of you who joined the free tier! There are so many of you, I really appreciate that you're here.

What I see other creators does it's creating a post with a summary of all content of the month. Like "this is what you will get if you pay this month". A newsletter also sounds good. At the end, the point is showing a demo of what they would get if they become patreons 😊 By the way! I didn't know about the free feature. What I was doing was following some creators, to remember they have Patreon and having them in mind for future. I suppose free subscription is the same as a following (which is more hidden)

yes, i think they turned the follow function into a free tier option :) which is why i suddenly have 4k extra patrons, haha!

Yes someone else that I was following I got auto put onto their free their when it got turned on. So if you follow someone and they have the free their then you are automatically put onto it.

I really like it as an ability to give those who can’t afford it access to some kind of content in which they can still learn and improve in their artistic skills. Maybe it would be a good probono option for you as you can give back to a community who can’t afford it. Perhaps some kind of video that is easy for you to make? I’m trying to think of some kind of content for more basic methods of learning. But I can’t think of anything right now. Aaron Blaise did this with some of his classes, putting them at $1 for people who wanted to learn during the pandemic and it was super helpful when I wasn’t making any cash and couldn’t afford a thing. I believe it’s motivating material. I’m trying to think of what is helpful at foundational levels. (Coming up short here!) just tossing around ideas.

thanks for sharing that! i was indeed thinking of making a draw with me video or something kind of low-key for the free members. i won't have time to do it for another few months, but i definitely have it on my list to do later in the summer!
