Hey patrons! It looks like the majority of you voted to draw heads for monday's drawing session! Here's the reference I'll be using for those who want to draw along ~ I opted for elderly heads with lots of wrinkles and texture!

For those who missed it, I'll be streaming my drawing process into the discord server next week, on Monday the 20th of March at 2pm CET (use this converter to find out what time that is in your area). It will be in the community art room channel, and if you want to draw along, you can stream your process into the channel as well! It would be great if you joined ❤ hope to see you there!

For those who want to join the discord server but aren't sure how, check out this resource!

Old people! Yeay! 🥳 But I tried a quick sketch of each and noticed three of them have glasses… Especially the upper two actually hide their eyes behind the glasses… I find it difficult to make my drawn figures actually old, not just wrinkly or sick looking… Without the eyes it‘s even worse 😭😅 I‘m curious for tomorrow 😆

This post says "tomorrow" but the 20th is in 3 days, I just want to make sure I've got the right time! I'm in CST and converters say it's Mon 20 at 8am for me :) Edit: JK, I thought it was a live drawing session but now I see it will be prerecorded- tomorrow! Haha oops, thanks

Same issues for me! I'm very interested to see how Loish handles them!

Is it tomorrow or on the 20th?🤔

Hi! I connected to the discord server but everything is locked - any ideas why I dont have access? 😕

Hii, I had the same issue. Here's Patreon's advice: 1- Disconnect your Discord and Patreon accounts. You can do this by clicking the Disconnect button next to Discord on your Patreon Apps settings page 2 - Log out of Discord. 3 - Clear your cache and cookies 4 - Head back to your Apps settings page and click on the Discord Connect button 5 - Authorize Discord again

Hey, just wondering if you found it in the end? I am wondering if it has been recorded so I can watch it back, if so do you have an idea where it is? Thanks

Hello! I’ve always had trouble with face proportions and I have never been able to draw a character’s eyes that I’m happy with! Could you maybe address your process in an upcoming drawing session or maybe point out another video that talks about that?

2023-03-31 18:32:07 i have a tutorial on heads & expressions! you can find it here - https://www.patreon.com/posts/tutorial-video-40374192 but I'd love to do another tutorial on faces for sure! do you think you could be more specific about what you struggle with? what is it you don't like about the eyes?

hey katie! you're probably not verified - have you clicked the thumbs up emoji at the bottom of the server guide yet? if not, definitely do that first! if you did, head over to the ask-a-mod channel - there's some steps you can take listed there in order to fix this issue!

hey rian - there was a typo in my post above! the session is today, the 20th.

Loish

sorry for the confusion carolina! it is on the 20th (today).

Hi, hope it's okay to jump into this question thread .. I am curious to see a tutorial about simplifying the features into basic shapes, eyes, mouth, nose. For example when the mouth wraps around the cylinder of the face in 3/4 view .. sometimes the shapes in this situation are hard to define. Also wondering how to draw big, stylized eyes. Do I need to change the proportions of the face to fit them in? What other style choices do I need to consider when drawing big eyes to make them look cohesive with the rest of the face? Thank you!

Loish

thanks for this - it's so helpful! I think i'll be making a face drawing tutorial next month!
