The summer is almost over! I'm relieved because it was honestly way too warm for me this year. I'm looking forward to the beginnings of autumn!

Here's a little review of how this month has gone for me:

PINK & BLUE

This month’s art has been super candy colored! Almost everything is pink or blue. These are colors I’ve loved a lot ever since I first learned how to draw in a stylized way, and they always return to my art in cycles. No matter how much my work evolves or grows, I always end up going back to some of the things that inspired me at the very beginning! Do you have any artistic themes that are always coming back in your work?

NEW TIER & DISCORD

As you might have read in this post, I’m currently working on a new structure for this patreon that will include a discord community! The discord is nearing completion, and I’m currently working on creating the monthly challenges. I want the monthly challenges to be drawing exercises that we can all do together, and which can be supported by tutorials and resources on the patreon to help you complete them! If there are any specific challenges you’d like to do, please do let me know by dropping a comment or sending a DM - all suggestions are welcome!

As always, thanks so much for your support! I'll be sending out links to this month's google drive folder today. If you have any feedback or questions, please feel free to share them with me through a direct message or e-mail to loishh@gmail.com. Any and all feedback is welcome! I hope you’ll continue to be my patron and enjoy the content coming up next month! ❤

This is really exciting - I think it's so kind that you're still offering access to new tutorials in the lower tier. So exciting about Discord too!

FaroreNightclaw

I'm so excited for the Discord! Question - are you planning on having 18+/NSFW-allowed areas of the Discord, or will it all be SFW? much of my work is erotic and it's so hard to find artist communities that both support learning and growth AND support NSFW artwork. but i totally understand if it won't be allowed, i know you probably have all ages following you and stuff. Additonally I just finished The Style of Loish and omg it was so good! I really appreciated the little exercise suggestions and will def be trying some. And the book itself was just gorgeous, the graphic design was ace on top of the lovely art!

I think I will stay in a low tier, but now I’ll have an extra motivation to finish a tutorial before month end haha 😄

Super excited for the new tier and these challenges, Lois! I think I glossed over that earlier and thought that Discord would only be a hub for connecting etc. But I love this idea, especially tying it to your content and awesome tutorials. Thank you so much for making the transition smooth for us annual patrons, too! I know it must have been a lot of work for you to get it all sorted. You're the absolute best! So excited to see what you've got prepped for us in the next couple of months. Have a lovely start to the next month (and Fall!) 😊

Looking forward to the discord! Would love a challenge involving trees and environments in general.

I’m the only one who can’t see de post???? Like in this month I only had this kind of announcements, no normal posts

Hey Loish! New Member here. I’ve always struggled to draw humans in general and your Tutorials have been a lifesaver to say the least, so Thank You! It would be a great help if you made a tutorial on how to draw lips because mine always turns out too plastic-y especially the side profile ones. Thanks again!

Loish

sorry to hear that! i just took a look at your patreon info and it says that the most recent payment was declined. so the reason you haven't been seeing the normal posts is because technically you're not signed up to the patreon.

Loish

thanks so much for your kind words rali! it's definitely going to be more of a hangout area for the basic tier, but for the higher tier there's a special area where you get the challenges and can post the outcome of them. and also a full list of tutorial resources!

Loish

no problem! and you'll still get a drive link at the end of the month so you can download it and keep it to watch whenever you want to.

Loish

hey! this is a good topic to bring up! we are trying to figure out the finer details there but right now it's looking like we are going to avoid any kind of NSFW content, just because we expect to have such a large group of artists and many of them are young and some could even be minors. it's very complicated and we don't want to take too many risks! also, thanks so much for backing the artbook! I'm so glad you liked it :)

FaroreNightclaw

Thanks for the answer! I totally understand, erotic/fetish art is pretty niche in the overall art world and it makes sense that someone with such a varied fan community in terms of ages, interests, etc would want to keep things as general-interest as possible. I look forward to the Discord regardless, and I'm sure there's plenty of stuff to talk about as digital artists that doesn't involve bringing up the nature of my work x) I do it all the time in the traditional art community I'm part of after all lol

I would love challenges on specific techniques. Like assign use a choice of 2-3 different references, a tutorial of the technique such as the hair or coloring with a lasso, and color scheme that way we can all bounce off of each other on how we got to where we did in the final piece for the same thing.

Loish

ohh that's such a cool idea! love it. thank you for this idea!

I’m so psyched for the new tier, and to be able to receive feedback from fellow artists as I grow. This is EXCITING!

Dear Loish, I can't wait for your new tier and discord channel to come online. Many, many thanks for your very valuable content! As for the monthly challenges and exercises: I would be very grateful if we could train and going deeper into the matter of (fast) "sculpting" – with color/also greyscale. I really admire this technique in particular that you do so perfectly! I lose myself way too early in details. From the rough to the detailed ... whether in illustration/painting or also when creating layouts or even in 3D – i know, it's actually always the same: First the rough surfaces, then it can become finer and more detailed. I really want to internalize that in my work. And it would be a great thing to have someone like you as a "mentor" by the side. All the very best – many greetings from Berlin! Su
