Here’s the final part of the process for Flow! You can find part 1 here, and part 2 here. Just like with the previous videos, this one is sped up to twice the original speed, and you can adjust the speed with the gear button.

This process is basically a continuation of the last video, where I’m just rendering and finalizing the image to clean it up and get it to a finished level. I flip the image about 8 minutes in, which is something I’m trying to do more often in my painting process, because it helps me spot some areas that need extra work.

about 30 minutes in, I add some bubbles to the painting. I do this on a separate layer so I can try out different shapes and directions for the bubbles. I want them to add some movement but not totally overwhelm the artwork, so I’m kind of using a trial and error approach. Once I have them drawn in, I add some photo textures of bubbles on top of that, just to get those tiny, finer details right. I feel like using textures as overlays in my art works as long as it’s combined with a hand-drawn element.

Hope you find this video helpful and as always, ask away if you have any questions!

Perfect. I think I will stitch these three videos together and just run it on loop as a screen saver.

This is beautiful!:) I've noticed that at min 44 you make a new layer and it's called pass through, what does that do?

Hi Loish. Since you've made a lot of informative and helpful videos for us, do you keep the original recordings in your storage files or did you only keep the edited videos or both?

Loish

i keep the original recordings in a backup! as well as the edited versions! fortunately the file sizes are not too big.

hey emilia! that's just a group of layers, 'pass through' is the automatic mode given to groups of layers. basically at that point i grouped together a bunch of random layers together so that my layer panel was more organized!
