Back to the sketchbook: A sketch session with inks! Specifically, a micron fineliner, with a bit of color from an ecoline brush pen. I’m trying to push for a more flowy style of drawing lines, and a more stylized approach for conveying volumes in the linework. I’m quite happy with how it turned out, especially the bottom left one. I wanna build more on this chunky/flowy style in the future!

Seeing your sketches, I think you may like this pen for inking : https://www.amazon.com/Platinum-Fountain-Black-Body-DPQ-700A/dp/B006Z10E1S/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ink+pen+platinum&qid=1629794400&sr=8-3 It's like a nib, but with refills ! I really like this tool so I hope you will also :)

Hey Loish, are you going to make, maybe, a video of this kind of work? :)

Your lines are so beautiful! What a treat for the eyes. Never stop using that pen omg I’d love to see a larger/more complicated piece like this 😩💖

These are brilliant. Exceptional lines, too.

Loish

thank you! drawing these made me realize that I'd like to start venturing into the more 'finished piece' zone with pens too :)

Loish

yes, definitely! I wasn't able to make a video of these because sadly the clamp that holds my phone in place broke. but the new one has arrived and I'll be recording my traditional art moving forward :)

Love seeing your traditional sketches! I was wondering if there would be a tutorial this month and would you ever do a tutorial on inking? 😊

Anonymous

I love the flowy chunkiness too!

Loish

hey! the tutorial for this month was just posted :) an inking tutorial definitely sounds like a good idea for a future one! I'm thinking about doing more traditional art tutorials in the future, for some variety :)
