Remember these thumbnails that I posted a long time ago? Most of you said that you liked the fourth one, so I decided to go ahead and finalize that one! I’ve been using a technique for some of my paintings lately where I go from greyscale to color using different overlay layers. I used that technique here as well, gradually adding more and more blue / pink tones. It’s really time consuming, but I like the end result because it allows me to focus more on the contrast in the early stages! I’ll try to put together a process video for this painting. Thanks for all your feedback on the thumbnail version, and I hope you like this end result!

Love love loooooooove the lighting - the bright white practically illuminating her face with a sharp, stark contrast! I know I’ve been struggling with values in my own work, so super excited to see the process video for this one, especially with your slightly-new use of a greyscale map in your workflow!!!

I love the colors on her torso! That almost transparent effect that you got is so pretty.

Will we be able to get a tutorial on how you went from greyscale to color using blend modes ?

I think that technique does wonders!

So gorgeous! I really love how her face is framed by the light <3

I'm thinking of making one, once I have the technique down. Right now I'm still messing around with it a lot, going back and forth without a clear method. but I'm getting there!

Loish

thank you! it's indeed new for me, still trying to figure out my way there!

Looking forward to seeing the painting process

Me encanta Loish!!! La fuerza y los colores empleados. El escorzo/perspectiva tan dinámico que empleas, para mí es una de las cosas más difíciles a la hora de dibujar. Es una pasada ;)

Yay! I was hoping there would be a process video for this one. Can’t wait to see it! I’m totally enchanted and I hope there will be prints available soon ♥️

This is magical! I think it may be my favorite piece of yours. I’ve been loving the rake brush, is that something you made or something you found?

Loish

it was in a brush set that i bought (viorie's brushset) but it's soo easy to make. just a few dots arranged vertically and you've got yourself a rake!

Loish
