I haven’t sketched in a while, so I decided to grab my sketchbook and do a little sketch session. I tried using a blending stump for the first time and I really enjoyed using this tool! I want to do more sketch sessions in the future, and get back into more traditional stuff! I’m really out of practice at the moment haha. Hope you like these!

I too have missed your traditional sketches - they were why I joined your Patreon group. Good to see them back.

These feel like the painterly aspect has leveled up! I like it! They have more of the tonality that your greyscale work on the computer has, and more of the rough/smooth interplay.

it makes me kinda crazy how i love your lines, specially in paper. since a while now i found myself trying to get mines likes that with no luck.

thanks so much lia! what is it about the lines that you struggle to capture? maybe I can make a tutorial on it in the future or point you to some resources to help you out!

thanks so much for joining and welcome to my patreon! :)

thanks emily! i'm feeling an urge to convey more depth in all my work lately, which might be showing in my sketches too.

I want to set aside more time for traditional stuff in the coming months, because I've missed it so much!

Your lines are.. decisive(?). It's hard for me to explain. I feel I make lines and build the form by approximation, repeating the lines again and again. making my sketches very dirty. yours are very clean and each line has like this .. movement, idk

Your lines are so lively in your sketches 💖

Loish could you please do a draw through of you doing traditional sketches like these. After switching and practicing with digital primarily, it's honestly been hard sketching on paper. I'd be really nice to see how you start from the ground up and how different or similar the processes are for you!

that's a great idea! I have a few process videos showing my sketching process, here's one of them in case you haven't seen it yet: https://www.patreon.com/posts/process-video-40448551
