Time to step out of my comfort zone! I always struggle with things that have straight shapes and a heavy mass. My art tends to turn out very flowy and light, so drawing cars is very much the opposite of my aesthetic! But it is something I want to get better at. Here are some car studies in which I tried to capture their look but also stylize and exaggerate them a bit so that they felt like ‘my style’. I have mixed feelings about the end result but it was definitely fun to do!

They look amazing, all the shapes and the rendering look really good! 🙌🏻💖 cars are something kinda hard to draw, so you did an amazing job with them ✨👏🏻

I think they came out great! You stayed true to your style and gave them character, but they look realistic at the same time.

They're looking really good! Maybe you could do a tutorial on drawing things that are out of your comfort zone? 🤔

These are so wonderful, Lois... I love looking at drawings/painting of cars. Even though this might be out of your comfort zone, it's so identifiable as yours....just beautiful. I especially love the little VW bug!!

So cool. The red van is my favourite (love the texture) 🧡 I would never guessed you struggled with these and I love how easily recognizable these cars are as your work, even if its not your usual art subject.

Loish

thank you! I love looking at other artists's interpretations of vehicles, especially cars, which is why I want to get into this more :)
