You might recognize these from the animal tutorial I posted earlier this week! I wanted to do some animal sketches to get into the right mindset for the tutorial. Weasels are very cute and have a fairly simple shape, so I really wanted to challenge myself to make them appear more fierce and strong, since they are such incredible fighters. I was really happy with the line sketch but knew from past experience that once I go into the coloring/rendering phase, I lose some of the appealing qualities of the sketch! So when coloring this one, I tried to really maintain those volumes and prioritized that over accuracy. I feel good about the end result! I’m always happier with my art when I push myself towards a more specific goal, rather than just drawing aimlessly.

Hope you guys like these and if you wanna know more about my process behind them, be sure to check out the animal drawing tutorial! Find it here!

I love the concentration face on the top right one! So cute! Also, I really enjoyed your drawing animals tutorial. Something about it really made painting digitally click for me and I am so grateful as I have been trying to get the hang of it for years. Thank you :).

They look SO GOOD in color; you did a great job keeping the dynamic poses from the sketches! I love them <3
