Here’s part 2 of the mountain painting process! You can find part 1 here! This one is sped up to twice the original speed. It picks up where I left off: trying to decide how I was going to add a more magical element to this painting. At the beginning, I was thinking of a kind of transparent ‘wormhole’ effect like the one from Donnie Darko (one of my favorite movies!). Then I end up modifying it to be more swoopy, and that ends up being the one that I go with. Once I settle on that around the 17 minute mark, I’m ready to render and finalize the image as a whole, which is pretty much what I do for the rest of this process.
