Head sketches! Something I always return to after a while, I just love drawing faces. For these I wanted to push the volumes a bit and get a more squishy 3D feel with the exaggerated lighting and colors. Hope you guys like!

Thank you for this, Lois! 🙌🏻 Will you, in the foreseeable future, cover topics on how we can *somehow* do this 😅😭 honestly for me it’s scary to use other colors for shadows/highlights etcccc.. how do we push for that and what combinations work best hehehehehe

would love to see a talk through of more loose painterly studies like this.

Hey beautiful artist I've been meaning to ask. If you can please post the artwork from the live draw you did with procreate. I just love the colours. It is so different from most of your other artwork and the beautiful character is so cute. I love it.

Loish

that's a good topic! I guess it would be 'using unrealistic colors for shadows & highlights'? i'll add it to the list :)

Sorry If I'm over stepping. Im truly sorry if I am. But soon as before this month ends or like soon as in next month. I just dont want to miss it because this is my last month on patreon. Cause I have to leave.

oooh the colors!! I'm always so scared to go this dramatic with my colors, but maybe if it was just heads it would be a good chance to experiment :)

Wow. Very cool. I love the creativity in the expression and in the overall approach, too.

I love this piece! Also I am just wondering if there will be a process video of this painting because I am eager to give it a try!

Loish

hey riley! no worries. I will be posting it up next month most likely. But since the video is public anyways, you can always email me (loishh@gmail.com) and I can send you the final image!

Your heads look so effortless. I love drawing heads too, but I have a very tight or "strict" painting style. I find it very hard to do loose, one layer paintings without the colors getting muddy :( Anyways, that blue and pink lit one is my fav! Gorgeous!!

Loish

for this one it helped to use a chunkier brush that didn't allow me to get all noodly with the details!

This reminds me so much of LaLaLand/Gatsby/Cats Don't Dance, with all the lush colors ❤
